Luxe Italian in the heart of foodie central in Melbourne. Great service despite being quite busy. The food is top class. Go for the spag bol and you won't be disappointed. Great selection of wines too. Will look to go back everytime i'm in Melb

Cecconi's is the perfect place for a get together with friends or a special someone. First time I went was with a group of 10, and then second time was with 2 others. Both occasions were very enjoyable.

This is an amazing Italian restaurant discretely tucked away in a basement location in Flinders Lane. It is hugely popular and often difficult to get into as a 'walk in' so bookings are highly recommended. Seating is wrapped around an open planned kitchen so tables away from the bustle of the kitchen are recommended. Service is impeccable! Staff are both... More

Probably one of the best italian restarant I've ever tried. A bit pricey, but worth every cent. We were 4, and tried different dishes: pasta, rissotto, fish. All of the were superb. Dessert: white chocolate parfait, delicious! The waiters are italian, the kitchen is open and super clean. Would come back on my next visit to Melbourne.

My partner and i visited here after it being recommended to us by family. The food was amazing! Scallops to start and i had the pork and my partner had duck. After tasting each others we fell in love with the food it was to die for. Our only thing we would ask next time is that were not sat... More

Go down the elegant European style entrance and enter a bustling, warm and inviting interior. Extremely capable staff (with suitable Italian accents) escort you to your table, water is poured and menus are given when your whole table arrives. A surprisingly large number of specials are explained to the table which makes it very hard to make a choice. Our... More

Visiting Melbourne for 48 hours. We chose Cecconi's for a lunch before heading back to the hotel. Professional staff, bustling atmosphere and delicious food. Definitely a taste of Melbourne.

Cecconis had been a staple of mine for many years but in the recent past I was dismayed to see a menu that had steered away from their traditional Italian fare to more fusion style cuisine which was the fad. Thankfully that has been corrected, the menu is back to great Italian cuisine the food is superb and the staff... More

We were in Melbourne for the weekend and Cecconis was close to our hotel and had a great long standing reputation. We found an excellent Italian menu with a choice for everyone in our party. The service was also very good. The only downside for me was I thought that some of the menu items were overpriced - Fish N... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
