Great place for pre show drinks and eats. Good heating for outdoor sitting area. Had a very nice refreshing cocktail served in a jug fornthe two of us. Would be great on a summer evening.

Who doesnt love a rooftop bar in the heart of a CBD? Madame Brussels is all about location, atmosphere and DRINKS! I've been on a few occasions but going with a group of 8 girls we were accomodated perfectly on a sunday early afternoon. The staff thrive on good vibes and make the experience worth it. A great spot in... More

I'm more of a simple, classic martini girl, so found the punch-type cocktails a tad sweet. Having said that, this place is fun, and unashamedly over the top. Make sure you read the menu descriptions...

We caught up with friends for a drink before dinner. We ended up coming back for drinks after dinner too. Attentive staff, outdoor heaters and blankets make this venue very comfortable. It is quite an intimate venue too. Great for catch ups with close friends.

Cute Victorian furniture on a rooftop bar with staff that only wear polos, short shorts and tennis socks. There is absolutely nothing that can go wrong with this formula. This is another one of those secret and out of view Melburnian roof top bars that I had the pleasure of visiting. The staff were very nice, the bouncer/doorman was cheery... More

Food quality poor - only white bread on offer/no substitute for people with special diets. Service was slow. Staff/manager in charge today was rude. Perhaps the rules should be explained. I took a small biscuit from a table laden with food, just outside the parlour door, i thought they were for us as guest that had paid $48 each, but... More

I had my first ever espresso martini here on Saturday night. It was ok but way too sweet. A cute concept but the place looks a bit tired and the staff a bit scruffy. Its very cluttered with the furniture and stuff everywhere. Perhaps would be nicer in the afternoon.

first time visit to madam Brussels and had a great time! very 1950s courtyard décor with waiter and waitresses serving drinks in tennis outfits. Astro turf and paved floors with big comfy chairs inside. Cocktails a little pricy but they are big drinks. fun atmosphere Will be back!

So,picture this! It's cold, wet, dark and you're meeting a friend at this establishment!! You get lost because you're out of town then find this place, go up the few stairs and walk into the most amazing place!!!!! The first thing we notice is the quirky little tennis outfits worn by the staff followed by the gorgeous smile and friendly... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
