Had dinner here after walking around the city. Rendang is good, vegetables were freshly prepared. My 9 yrs old son was very happy with the bakso noodles. Staff were honest and returned cash for an extra order entered wrongly. Overall very good value.

I can't say that this is a restaurant. It is just like a cafeteria or take away restaurant. For ready made food, I think it's ok. But, not for a la carte menu. The food I ordered (Ketoprak) was not good at all! It tasted horrible. Not recommended.

I've eaten here a few times and lunched over the weekend, where there are some specials on prepared dishes. Nice looking Beef Rendang.. I always love a good rendang, but always so hard to find one well prepared.. Nelayan rendang was soft and fall apart meat, as one expects, with a nice flavour. A few other interesting dishes on offer,... More

There are plenty of choices of South East Asian restaurants in Melbourne CBD if you miss the food. This restaurant is one of them, located strategically in the middle of CBD. It's an Indonesian restaurant, with spacious room if you came with a big group.

I came here with my Malaysian family. I had the satay vegetables and rice (rice cost extra) and the vegetable fritter. Serving sizes are good.

Had dinner there last night. Must have is the beef rendang. We also had some veg, chilly Tempe and we ordered nelayan chicken from special menu, this is more like Ayam bakar with green chili, something like Ayam kremes but sweeter. All in all good value considering it is located in Melbourne CBS and pretty authentic Indonesian food.

The good lad wife away from home country and food need something a close to as possible traditional fare. During April both the wife and I dinned at this restaurant on multiple occasions, the food was yummy, we particularly liked the Bakso and Rendang. Busy restaurants were the food quality was delicious and a variety of Indonesian food available, it’s... More

authentic Indonesian food ... had 3 combination of fried chicken, curried vegetables with tofu and fried salted fish ... they were really good ... my only gripe is the rice was too wet and lumped together ... personally I prefer my rice to be drier and the grains are individually separated ... will return and see if the rice improves... Ate here with friends for the first time. Food was authentic. We chose the Mie Kocok and Bakso. The Mie Kocok had plenty of pieces of soft meat and tasty broth. The Bakso with noodles were hot and delicious. The atmosphere was friendly.

Located in the city of Melbourne, this restaurant will help Indonesian tongue on a budget meal. They provide a combination of rice and other selection of food. They provide Halal food. The waitress is an Indonesian student in Melbourne doing a part time job. In this restaurant, for sure, you can speak in Bahasa Indonesia.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
