After reading reviews on Trip Advisor we headed off for dinner for four. The food was really good and it is clear that the place has the same ownership as the Flower Drum. The stuffed garfish is the same and the rest of the food was of the same quality but lower priced. At 7pm there were hardly any other... More

This restaurant is more up-market than most restaurants in Chinatown. It has white linen tablecloths. The food will not disappoint, and the wine list is good but not great. However, who goes to a Chinese restaurant for their wine? Service was very attentive.

We shared a variety of dishes including dim sims, peking duck,a lamb and a prawn dish. The food was fresh and well presented. The staff were very helpful and the venue was great.

I must admit we do enjoy coming to this peaceful little restaurant in China town. The restaurant is easily missed as it is tucked into the Punt Hill apartments, but it is well worth a visit. The fist time we came here we were sent by the Flower Drum as they were fully booked. "How do you know it is... More

Not that I have ever been to the Flower Drum, but I don't think I need to having been here so many times. This place had me at hello! The food and service is just outstanding. I love the Peking Duck here. It is always on point. The prices for everything here are also reasonable and not over the top.... More

I hadn't been to the Tea House for a few years, and quite simply the food was just awesome. Shannon runs a very good business.

Ate here one night on the off chance as we were too tired to trawl Chinatown and were staying in the hotel next door. We had super service and super food. Pork tenderloin and lobster omelette to start - couldn't fault it. Scallops and duck for mains - scallops were fresh and duck was tender and nicely cooked, both with... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
