My wife and I ordered two flat whites, two kebabs and a serve of chips for lunch. The coffees were at best tepid and came 15 minutes before the kebabs. The kebabs were supposed to be lamb but the flavour was indistinguishable and the texture of thick mince. When I asked where the chips were the waiter went to the... More

Our usual restaurant had closed down so we tried here. I had pumpkin soup which I was very disappointed in. It tasted more like carrot soup. My son got the chicken parmigana with salad and chips and he was very impressed. The serving size was very generous.Dim sims are delicious and very cheap here also. Also open 24/7 which is... More

Stopped here for a quick lunch. Service was ok, place is super daggy and run down. Food nothing to rave about, wouldn't make an effort to come back..

Was good for a cheap breakfast. Very greasy though. Didn't like the strange sausages they serve for breakfast. Not the best, not the worst. Better places to eat

Went here tonight for the second time within the last week. Amazing customer service where they will go out of their way to make sure your needs are catered for. Our drinks were forgotten while dining in, however to compensate they insisted we take them away at no charge. My partners burger was doubled in size (patties, bacon and cheese)... More

Was walking late night in Swanston and at the 1st look it will not attract you. It is a pretty old style decor & ambience. Was pretty hungry & was looking for some good vegetarian snacks late night and bumped upon this. It had Veg Spring rolls & potato cakes. I ordered for 2 each & even for 2 pieces... More

I have been there twice in the last month for a hamburger and drink. There is a reasonable selection of hamburgers and other foods. The first hamburger I had was fairly bland and looked and tasted like it had been prepared earlier. The second time I went the burger was freshly cooked on a fresh roll and was nice to... More

What a horrible place. I purchased a scoopon voucher without knowing what the place was like (as we come from a different state and just over for a weekend) and pretty much forfeited it. Sat in a booth with grubby too low chairs on one side and the other the side was falling appart. Stuffing coming out of the booth,... More

Visited with a voucher. For those that are used to the plastic modern facades that dominate fast food joints, you probably walked straight past this place without even a second glance. Decorated in the 1960's and probably the last time this place saw the bristley end of a paint brush, the inside is more of a place you expect to... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
