Went here for the first time last night , have to say it was one of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at . The food was delicious especially the lamb mussaman curry . You can choose to sit at tables or cushion seating on the floor up against tables , we decided on the cushions . It was so... More

Yesterday evening was too late to read reviews or look around, I entered in this place almost randomly and it was a very good surprise. Amazing staff, kind e smiling. Beautiful place, nice music, possibility to seat on the ground on pillows. The food is very good and the prices are right. I will come back for sure.

This was a very disappointing dinner. The service was lovely but it was badly let down with terrible food. We had a set menu and my daughter had the special of fried chicken. Our entrees were all fried and pretty tasteless and the mains were dull and lifeless. It was a cheap meal but we all left feeling rather disappointed.

Worst Thai I've ever had. Veggies were not cooked and I think I ate a raw prawn. At least half the meal was free because we complained

Went for dinner. At first impression it all looked outdated and a bit old. But as the food came out slowly we had time to appreciate the decor. Everything was matching and lead to an overall pleasant dining experience. Loved the curry puffs. Will be back!!

Entrees came out quickly and were ok. Main meals came out and rice was stone cold. Sent it back and it came back 30 seconds later and was the same bowl and still cold. Thai Green curry came out and had no flavour whatsoever. Roti was served with the meal and was cold, rock hard and inedible. Also ordered Mango... More

Very nice food and reasonably priced. Went there about 5-6 times. Consistent quality and always friendly staff. Great location; right on Chapel Street.

Dining at Patee Thai was a last minute decision but one we were really glad we made, With the option of siting on cushions or at tables, we could see how popular the restaurant is by how busy it was on a weekday night. The service was great with friendly staff who gave us guidance with the menu. The food... More

Staying in Fitzroy

Neighborhood Profile
Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots, hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic. Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll find little independent shops where local clothes and furniture designers display their wares. There are specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its cuisine and art galleries, but if you want to buy an old-fashioned snooker table, there is a shop for that too. Small pubs still exist, tucked away on the corners of suburban side streets that serve up traditional Sunday roasts. Live music abounds, and the street performers play so hard you worry to tip them would ruin their concentration. Venture to the Spanish quarter on Johnston Street and you may even find street dancing. It is all happening amidst off-beat street murals and the shuffle of a very funky neighborhood that embraces both old and new.
