For me this place is really a 3.5. Had the souvalaki combo takeaway which was big and tasty. Problem was it was just a little too greasy and sloppy for me. I was going to get the light option but was told it would be a 15 minute wait so I opted for the Giros meat which was quicker. The... More

Had a really nice meal and for $5 you can bring your own bottle of wine. The food came out a little slow but was well worth the wait ~20 mins extra but the staff we friendly and attentive and the food portions were HUGE. The sauces were $2 a pop though, $6 for a large which I though was... More

This is a place close too my heart.I have been going too this place since mid 1980's. I love the gyros. I even get half a dozen too take home with no salad and put them in the freezer for later. Have watched Sam and family progress this place over the time. You would not be disappointed on the food.... More

This place was recommended by our tour guide. We really enjoyed our large portions of very good food, and the initial service was good. Strangely, toward the end of the meal when we wanted ice for some water, not one of the three waiters we asked was able to come up with any. But the authentic Greek food was really... More

There's a big turnover. Decoration is awful with this ceiling made of false stalagtites. Fortunately they don't fall unless you could be afraid of. See my picture When stalagtites meet stalagmites. Apart of this, lamb is well cooked and tastefully. Portion are big. Prices are medium low.

The bestest souvlaki there is and will ever be! I suggest to have it dined in so you can take your time to devour this humongous yet tasty wrap!

Had a quick pre-theatre meal here. The place was very busy but the staff were great when we told them we were on a time limit. Food was fresh and tasty, excellent value for money. Good atmosphere with good music. Only fault we could find was pita is not provided with the appetiser platter, but the pita we ordered was... More

Great food but be warned the serves are huge. Had a great lunch with great Greek food and great Greek friendly service. Very reasonably priced and apparently they trade 24/7 how good is that ! You can't co wrong ... Look at the roof when you are seated... Classic !!!

Good food at a reasonable price. Good place to grab lunch - even the light meals are filling. Would go back. Specials change regularly.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
