This may not be fair but we generally judge an Indian restaurant on the quality of the Butter Chicken, and this one was just average. It was too tomato flavoured for my liking, and the kids were underwhelmed too. On the other hand, the Lamb Rogan Josh was very good. No complaints either about the size of the servings or... More

This restaurant serves terrific Nepalese and Indian food. Try the Nepalese as it's harder to get good Nepalese food. It was our first time in this restaurant so we sought guidance on quantities. We were misled, being told to order rice when we already had Naan bread. The rice and the bread were perfectly cooked but we had way too... More

Loved the Homemade Nepalese cuisine. Dinner was great: the delicious food; the attentive service; the reasonable prices; and the pleasant setting. But for the plastic table cloths, this would rate a ten out of ten.

Me and my boyfriend were on Holiday in Melbourne on our last night we decided to have dinner in Indian Restaurant. We booked a table for 9:30pm, we were there late, but the staff was kind and friendly. Our waitress helped us for our choices for food and indian beer 🍻 We tried one of the banquet, the food was... For my wife, there is no going past the fact that she experienced naan bread for the first time in her life here. It was pretty close to the regular naan bread I've eaten over the years. The rest of our dinner was equally impressive. It was the first time I've visited an Indian restaurant and not finished the food... More

So nice to have some unusual options over and above the usual saag. Can't wait to go back! The service was excellent - we had someone with multiples allergies and the care taken was great.

From the moment we walked in until the moment we left , the whole meal was amazing. My son adores curry and has struggled to find a good curry in Melbourne - well now we have - I am Gluten Free and have never had such a welcoming response " nothing too much trouble" their whole menu is extremely comprehensive... I ate here in May, mid-week. The food was gorgeous, service prompt and portions generous. I was on my own, on business, and they were happy to leave me to eat at my leisure and then relax with a book. Great spot, good value.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
