I have been going to Collins Quarter for years and went yesterday for the first time this year. was very disappointed with the choice of menu. ordered the snitzel for $26 and that's pretty much all you get, if you want anything else its a add on. a small bowl of chips $10 extra. totally over priced for what you... Went to this highly rated cafe & bar for a business breakfast but they were undergoing renovations in one part of the restaurant. Noisy drills made it hard to hear each other. The food was not bad but the experience was not good. Will try at a later date to judge again

I've been coming to Collins Quarter for many years and it continues to deliver a quality venue with various booth, bar and outdoor seating options. More of a bar than a restaurant but that doesn't mean they don't turn out good food. Great lunch time place or quiet evening spot for a wine or glass of bubbles. The addition of... More

Knowledgeable staff with an exceptional customer service. Welcoming and willing to suggest other venues for dinner that we may also like while in melbourne. Extensive wine list. Delightful "secret" internal heated and fanned courtyard so close to Spring street hotels.

Went into the city and wanted somewhere quiet at about 11am in the morning. This place is up the Paris end of Collins, and has a number of rooms and an open area where you can have small or large groups - importantly good coffee, cake and service. This place must really hum on a Friday evening after work.

Basically a cocktail bar. Looks small but much larger on the inside with a beer garden and third bar out the back. Pretty classy and has a sneaky side entrance as well. Not my favourite, however does have a decent atmosphere.

A business end of year celebration, Collins Quarter was chosen. Attentive, well trained staff, with the food being light, refreshing and the perfect portion for lunch. It was also delicious. Extensive, good wine list.

Went there for coffee (which was good) one morning on the way to a conference and noticed the very comprehensive range of Scotch. Went back the following night for a drink. Friendly staff.

The service is very friendly and professional. We had breakfast here today, the food is delicious and they know how to poach an egg properly - unlike a lot of places these days! It goes without saying the coffee is fabulous as well! See ya next time I'm in Melbourne!

Tried his place recently for coffee with a friend. Despite the relatively small size of the place, found that we had to yell to hear each other. Coffee was great, service attentive but just ended up hoarse after 30min!!

Since 2007, Collins Quarter has seamlessly entwined business and pleasure from breakfast until well after dark. Our perfect mix of purpose-built rooms, intimate nooks and open spaces offer a variety of settings for almost every occasion. Collins Quarter occupies a Victorian terrace, built as consulting rooms and a residence in 1872 by Dr. Robert Martin. Today, Collins Quarter boasts an inspired blend of 19th and 21st century design within its polished but relaxed quarters. Entering from Collins Street, you'll be immediately seduced by the sophisticated European elegance of the new Doc Martin's aperitif and digestif bar. From there the rest of the venue unfolds, revealing Colin's Pub, A Quarter Past - private dining, The Magnolia Courtyard, Blind Alley Bar and Ra Cigar and Cocktail Lounge. Quite simply, no other single venue in Melbourne offers you more. Collins Quarter undoes the top button of sophistication to deliver the quality the Paris end of Collins Street demands.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
