With so many dining experiencing awaiting locals and travellers alike, there is no need to experience substandard service like that found at Koko Black. The Royal arcade location is better but really unless you feel like being just another consumer - in, out, over - try somewhere else. The coffee is ok.

Who does't love chocolate? Koko black is the place for artisan chocolate and their degustation platter is a must. I love their hot chocolate as well and the atmosphere is just the right place to relax for a "me time".. the selection of chocolate they have is extensive and i love them all

In the CBD for an appointment and decided to spare time for a quick treat. Wow! Wonderful hot chocolate drink and the most beautiful chocolate mousse - wicked, but sensational!

I needed a task and a Melbourne winter pick-me-up. So have set the "task" of working my way through the Hot Chocolate Menu at Koko Black! The Collins Street store is just beautiful and the staff friendly and very helpful. Drop in at the top end of Collins Street relax and enjoy you won't be disappointed. PS: fav so far... More

One of the many reasons to go back to Australia! we heard so many things about their hot chocolate so we had to try it. The best hot chocolate i've tried so far. Will definitely come back and worth recommending to friends!

I recently visited Koko Black in Collins Street. It is a very cute and upper class chocolate shop that also serves coffee, tea and basic food. I would recommend you visit if you don't mind paying $4 for a latte. The staff were nice and friendly and efficient.

We always stop here for a chocolate hit when we are in Melbourne. The hit chilli chocolate is divine and the upstairs area is warm and comfortable. Always a pleasure!

Chocolate you can have too much but with top quality it shouldn't be an issue. Coffee tea or chilli hot chocolate are great. The sweets, desserts and sides are to die for. Could go there after dinner for a treat. No complaints

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
