We were at the Lygon Street outlet which had a warm and inviting ambience. The chocolate ice cream and mouse were very good. However, the pralines and cake were disappointing. Similarly, the coffee and signature hot chocolate were below average by Melbourne's high standards.

During the winter of 2016 we used to frequent this place for the amazing hot chocolate they made. So on a cold night this winter we made our way to Koko Black to get our usual hot chocolate fix. The disappointment upon tasting it was...More

Honestly no words are needed. Amazing! Presentation and selection fantastic. We had the tasting plate. My partner and I really enjoyed this. The additional caramel and chocolate sauce just completed the selection. I ordered the light hot chocolate. It was delicious and not too sweet....More

We visited this chocolate/dessert store and purchased a variety of hand selected chocolates. These varied from Pistachio, Praline, Salted Caramel, Coconut etc and they were all brilliant. The salted caramel was our personal fave. Chocolates being purchased individually were $2.30 each bit worth it as...More

I went here for a late afternoon tea with a friend. We had a lovely soy hot chocolate and tasty orange cake. It was a bit loud intermittently due to the baristas grinding coffee (I think), but otherwise the atmosphere was pleasant. The staff were...More

We enjoyed the chocolate ice cream the most - moist, rich and just about the right level of sweetness, which was ironically featured on the kids menu. We recommend salted caramel dark chocolate. Truffles unfortunately were a bit chain-store quality; you would feel these were...More

Came here on a Sunday mid afternoon. I wanted a non-Chocolate item to eat. I looked at the menu which suggested a Sandwich, so I asked for a Sandwich. "No bread".. they said! I asked for other random non-chocolate products from the menu. "Sorry, we're...More

I always visit here when I have friends visiting from overseas. I never leave disappointed with the quality of the product they serve. I only gave 4/5 because I feel the facilities could do with an update and sometimes the staff could be a little...More

If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated
over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the
place. Until recently, this neighborhood was home to
the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who
started their day with a local espresso. They are
gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this
Little Italy which has something for everyone.

Description
The Carlton salon opens late to cater for the evening crowd in the busy Lygon St precinct. The upstairs lounge offers a haven of relaxation, contemplation and rejuvenation, allowing customers to sit down and enjoy the magic of chocolate in their own little nook.We love the specialty desserts menu available exclusively at the Carlton salon, created by head pastry chef, Adam Tippins. The menu changes seasonally, which means there is always something new to discover.
