I've been looking for a place to satisfy my Thai cravings and when I came here for the first time, that coconut rice totally won me. I fall in love with every dish. The green curry chicken is lovely and tasty. Highly recommended.

Pad thai & Crab curry was good. Portion relatively big, quite good for value. Pretty crowded on a weekday noon, mostly asians or students i guess.

Staff are very efficient and food is lovely. It is BYO but there is an IGA liquor across the road. I was a little disappointed with the small amount of seafood that came in my hot pot.

Love this place. Was my favourite for lunch when I worked on Drummond street. Have taken my family many times for dinner, they love it too. Pad Thai is delicious and is what I keep returning for. Service is great.

Great food, more than decent price. Enjoyed starter, soup and main, all great quality, large potions. Very quick service.

This restaurant has excellent thai food and is decent in terms of price. I ate with a couple of my friends and it didnt cost too much. However the service of this restaurant isnt very good because it is always so busy. There are only few waiters and it takes too long to wait for food. Overall it is great... More

I have been eating here since it first opened, i guess about 10 years ago. It was about that time i was a single guy living opposite this restaurant and ate there 3 or 4 nights a week. Back then i used to get charged $5 for a plate of rice with minced chicken (pud grapow guy) and a thai... More

We came to Ying Thai 2 last year and we had a pretty good dining experience. However, we came back recently and we found that it was an utter disappointment. Firstly, they have made us wait for more than 30 mins because they have totally forgotten about our orders. Secondly, the seafood salad looked pathetic as it was filled with... More

First time at Ying Thai. Food is pretty good, price is a bit high and not at all impressed with the service!

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighborhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighborhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
