Grateful to find this place close to our hotel still offering breakfast after 11am on a Monday. Heaps of choices from simple to fancy. Mum had the delicious looking French toast & I had the smashed Avo (so bloody Melbourne!) which was made special with a beetroot pesto. Service was prompt & friendly. Coffee was delicious, with soy served at... More

Is there anything in life more to look forward to than a great pizza, sand where better to find great pizza than Melbourne. Tazio in Flinders Lane came well reviewed but fell flat on so many levels. The staff seemed disinterested, the space is boring and the pizza arguably one of the worst I've eaten. The thin base was lifeless... More

We booked which was wise, as the place was buzzing. Despite that service was good, pizzas seemed to be the go-to choice but we had veal, which was tender. Both veal dishes were accompanied with an excess of salad, which we did not finish. Overall, happy with place.

Booked a section upstairs for a 21st birthday celebration. I have to say, from the point of initial contact, Ray couldn't have been more helpful if he tried. He gave great advice on what we should & shouldn't do. The evening went off without a hitch, a great time had by all. Worth pointing out that the bar staff rostered... More

Dropped in for a business lunch and was well looked after by the waitress. Large tables accommodate groups of 8-10 well. The food was good, I wasn't blown away, but I wasn't disappointed. The thin crust pizza won't leave you bloated and anti pasta platters were fresh.

What a fantastic place right on the the iconic Flinders lane. The perfect place to sit outside, share a bottle or 2 of wine (or cocktails) and watch the world go by. This place is known for their pizza but all the menu options are excellent. We like to pick and share meals. The calamari, meatballs and the Treviso Pizza... More

Didn't stay long here. Firstly covered with shattered glass by the waiter trying to show off carrying too many glasses (this I could forgive as accidents happen) but when shaking the glass of my shirt noticed a mouse running around my ankles on the floor. Staff didn't even offer an apology and seemed to be unsurprised - make me wonder... More

Hi DS, we're very sorry to hear about the terrible time you had with us. First and foremost, food hygiene is at the top of our restaurant's priories and we have always received exceptional ratings for cleanliness from the Health Department at Melbourne City Council (which can you verify with them directly on 9658 9658 should you wish). In addition,... More

Accidentally stumbled across this place while searching for a booking to make on New Year's Eve and I wasn't disappointed!!! The food was delicious and the service exceptional (friendly and efficient)! Would certainly go back and recommend! A unpretentious gem in the city!

I struggled to find somewhere to hold our Christmas function, given quite strict criteria, but also a limited budget. I stumbled on Tazio from a google search, and immediately found Ray to be very helpful, friendly and approachable. I went to check out a few venues, and he was by far the most welcoming. I ended up booking out the... More

Came here New Years Eve with a group of friends not knowing what to expect before going off to the fireworks . Surprisingly we enjoyed every minute. We arrived a few minutes early and so were shown to a bar at the front to wait while our table was ready. Inside this place is on all different levels giving it... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
