It's been well over a year since my last visit to Longrain and despite having the fear that things may be different from our first wonderful experience, we were not disappointed. The menu didn't appear to have changed much which was OK with me because the Pork Hock and Birds nest were two of my favourites and I was hoping... More

Let's not forget the cocktails. Longgrain does seem to have it all. Although it's a large area there is a cosines to the place. Great feel. Relaxed & inviting. Have a cocktail if you have to wait for a table & admire the murals. A friendly hello or a question about what the people next to you, on the communal... More

We went to Longrain for a family birthday celebration recently ... As we were a large group , we were able to book & also given a round table , which we all loved ... The food was sensational & the flavours were superb in every bite . We chose the banquet , which didn't disappoint .... beautiful fresh food... More

Once again fantastic food every time we come here, we always struggle to pick only a few dishes I want them all. Love the long tables and checking out all the dishes going past. Best Thai food in Melbourne hands down.

The dishes and flavours are sensational, loved the starters and the mains. But, the wait time for a table was well over an hour, make sure you have a lot of time on our hands.

Visited Longrain for a business lunch with 4 other people. We decided on the banquet at $65 per head. It was without doubt one of the best banquets I have eaten. There was plenty of quality food served and presented impeccably. I can highly recommend the Pork Knuckle. It was superbly cooked. I will certainly be back.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
