The spaghetti tree has been in Bourke St for eons and the length of time it's been open is a tribute to how good it is. Good old fashioned Italian food which tasted great and the service was excellent.

The Spaghetti Tree is the ideal restaurant for either an early dinner before seeing a show or a late snack after. In the heart of Melbourne's theatre district, it is the ideal restaurant to get a tasty meal. The atmosphere is theartrical , with pictures lining the walls, to keep you interested . The food is tasty modern Italian cuisine,... More

This deserves a 3.5. The staff were great, reasonable priced wine menu. Meals very generous just not a very italian menu. Just cant rate a 4 for Melbourne there is so much great italian around. But that said it was value for money more like a good pub meal.

We were lucky to find The Spaghetti Tree open on a Sunday evening after going to see Matilda the Musical. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Serve size was very adequate without being too much. We liked it so much that we went back on the Tuesday night and it was just as good as our Sunday night meal.

Visited this evening as a couple and enjoyed very good flavoursome Spaghetti Marinara and Fettecine Carbonara with a Shiraz wine. Exceptionally friendly staff who are attentive but not intrusive. Very atmospheric surroundings. Would go back.

Our first time and we'll be back. The food is simple but full of flavour, well portioned and priced. It's well worth the visit just to admire the venue/décor. The service did drop off once we had received or lunch, I had to go and ask for more drinks.

Enjoyed garlic bread for entrée, followed by satay chicken, rice and coleslaw which was very nice. My partner enjoyed lamb back strap and vegies which he said was very tasty. As it was a public holiday there was a 10% surcharge on our bill.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
