Walk down the steps off a small Melbourne CBD lane and you will be on your way to an amazing culinary experience. We had a couple of large tables, but the staff were very attentive, knowledgable about the food and matching wines. All the food was beautiful. Even the bread with oil or salt while your meals came out were... More

Dinner with some friends. The atmosphere is nice and staff accommodating. However, the prices are exorbitant. We had the three course menu, and while the food was beautifully presented, we didn't leave the restaurant feeling full at all. My husband ordered the wagyu beef main (which is another extra $20), asked for it well done, but it didn't come accordingly.... More

Ezard is a good fine dining place. They also offer a degustation menu with mat hint wines, which is worth the expense. Waiters are observant and helpful.

6 of us dined in the jovial environment that makes Ezard special. Starters were the Oyster shooters & they were sensational. Main was Barra which was delightful and the sweets offering was excitingly excellent. Quite unique makes Ezard pleasingly memorable. That is until the bill arrives?

Four of us ate from the a la carte menu and the food was very good. Sommelier was helpful and the wine good. Service was engaging and entertaining. I liked it and will go back.

Great ambience, great staff, fabulous food with fabulous wines all the way. Of the desserts, only one was too my liking and it had Basil in it. I don't really care about the dessert end of things though. We had a memorable night with great friends

We came here to celebrate a birthday and Father's day occasion (falls on the same day once every 6-7 years) and was very happy with the overall outcome. The restaurant is located on the basement of a building with another two (?) other restaurants above it. Again, it is another one of those "don't judge the book by it's cover"... More

This restaurant was deemed by my brother as the 'one place he's always wanted to eat at in Melbourne but never had'. Naturally this gave me high expectations for our dinner held for my partner's sister's birthday. We had the degustation menu. It was nice, but not outstanding like I expected, I can't pinpoint a particular dish that stood out.... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
