2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Went to Cookie several years ago and was very impressed with the food and ambiance. Not so last week. Unfortunately, the ambiance is still there but the food is now mediocre at best. Apart from one noodle dish the remainder of our order came out cold and the promised flavours were MIA. Cookie needs to up its game.

We were visiting Melbourne from the UK. A friend highly recommended this bar. Upon arrival, the waitress went to greet us and then suddenly turned her back on us. We shrugged it off and went to the bar. Whilst being served by a friendly bartender, we asked if we could sit outside. He suggested we ask Christine, stating that's her... More

We had been to Cookie 2 years ago for our anniversary and had the most amazing meal so whilst in melbourne we thought we would revisit. Terrible idea! The food was cold, I sent it back and the waiter didn't even have an interest why I was sending it back so it came back cold again! I was told the... More

This was the first time I got a headache BEFORE I started drinking. Trying to pick a drink out of those menus, which I'm sure took longer to read than "War and Peace," was a brain-buster in itself. In a good way. My cocktails were great - Pina Dorado and daiquiri (lots of flavours). Food-wise, try to get a big... More

This would be my first choice for a special date in Melbs. The food is always superb and with a lively vibe, friendly and attentive staff. Fav eats are the firecracker prawns, beetle leaf cocktail and we drink our fair share of Lychee and Lemongrass Martinis. If you like sweet drinks.. you HAVE to try those. I'd advise to book... More

We came here when another very popular restaurants that does not take reservations was going to make us wait 90 minutes for a seat. But Cookie certainly is not second best! It was quite full but the waiter immediately found us a table. He explained how you go to the bar to order, and to pick up your drinks, then... More

Hi If you are looking for modern thai food Cookie is the place to go. Wide variety of dishes and the lamd dish is to die for as well as the duck with fat noodles. Very comprehensive international wine list and service with a great smile.

Came with a few friends for some drinks and a late dinner. There was such a large selection of drinks especially cocktails that we found it difficult to choose. The place has a great atmosphere too!

What a great find this was. The food leans to the spicier end of town but is well balanced and has great flavor. The wait staff are as good as any in Melbourne and know their stuff. If thirsty...and who isn't...the drinks list and tap beer is off the hook...as thick as a phone book...if we still had them! Menu... More

Our group of six were all impressed. The food menu is the size of three regular menus and the drinks list comes in three folders cocktails wine and beer all encyclopaedic in size. This selection on offer is great unfortunately almost impossible to navigate and select from. Luckily our waitress was happy to order for us and we enjoyed everything.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
