Definitely recommend for great fusion Asian food and fun vibe. Also visit bar on roof for amazing views. Wine list is pricey but food worth it.

It was a rainy evening and we were on the wrong side of Swanston Street - but we eventually found Cookie (not a lot of shopfront - just stairs up to a huge space called Cookie). The waiting staff were extra helpful and friendly and the meals were excellent. We will return to Cookie again.

Very nice food, they are always packed and you can tell why. The bar staff may be more prepared though.

Hands down the best Thai food in Melbourne. Authentic thai food and full of flavour. Funky place, always busy. Not cheap but its well worth it. Highly recommended for all thai food lovers

The food was amazing but unfortunately there was a chemical smell hanging around which detracted from the experience. There should be an incredible smell of fresh food, herbs, spices etc but it was all over powered by the strange smell. However the food and wine was excellent.

I love this place. Great atmosphere, great beer, and incredible Thai food. And all at VERY reasonable prices. I don't think i had a better mean in Melbourne. Can't wait to go back.

I love cookie! The food is delicious and I love the atmosphere! I first came here with some work colleagues and loved it so much that I had to take my parents there when they came to visit me from the UK. On both occasions, we ordered plates of food and shared it all round. There is also a good... More

My husband and I like to try new places but this is one we will keep going back to. The food is unique and tasty, with some really interesting takes on Asian dishes. The cocktails aren't cheap album again they are unique and always delicious. The staff are friendly and great at suggesting what combinations to go for. Love this... More

We visited Cookies for cocktails and dessert. The atmosphere was good, lots of fun and it had a good vibe it. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered the frozen daiquiri, which looked impressive but was sickly sweet. Dessert was the same.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
