Just average Chinese bbq food here, you pay for their location in China town, but the most memorable part was the disgusting condition the rest room was in. Urine all over the floors (toilet & uranil ), taps left running, sink filthy, paper on floor, horrible smell, two containers of salts sitting on floor to mask the smell. Kitchen hands... More

There are plenty of places in the area. We wandered in here. Doubtful we will again. Service is polite and quick, prices are reasonable BUT the food was bland and the wine was supposed to be Sav Blanc but wasn't. Disappointing.

For our last meal in Melbourne before returning home, we decided on Chinese tucker, after hammering the pasta and pizza circuit over the last week. Not wanting to go "over the top", we found this venue hidden alongside its bigger brothers, in CBD Chinatown. Initially, when we first walked in the front door, I found the smell a bit overpowering,... More

Only over from Perth for a day, but my love of good duck brings me back here hoping its not changed, it hasn't. Easily located in China Town, just on the outer of the city mall, this venue has a extensive range of Chinese cuisine to temp most. The restaurant is clean, the mens bathrooms possibly could have a bit... More

Ate here twice and had the roasted duck both times. The roasted duck really is delicious! The skin is roasted nicely and the meat is tender. A bowl of noodle soup with duck cost 11 dollars and you get a huge portion. Tried the Peking duck the 2nd time and the pancake used is a bit too thick to my... More

Went here at Chinese New Year. Plenty fireworks outside but not in this restaurant. Got a glass of warm tea first. Waitress brought 2 dishes one to us and the other to another table. Repeated this then 2 of us sat waiting while our rice went cold. Reminded them of our order and asked for hot rice again. No apologies... More

Had a funny and good meal here. They cram you in to the smallest table possible, despite requesting something larger. Then mid-meal they put people sitting with us. We ordered the duckling soup and the hot and sour soup. The hot and sour wasn't very good, but the duckling soup was the best soup we have had in any restaurant... More

Had the pork and century egg congee and it was tasty. The service is good and all the staff are friendly. If you're looking for a nice congee brunch this is the place as it opens at 11am.

Went looking for roast pork, duck and BBQ pork. This restaurant had them hanging in the window which is often a good sign. The BBQ pork was quite good.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
