Thanks for the amazing dinner I had the Garlic mushrooms, chilli prawns and the sticky date, & the missus had the calamari rings and the profiterolls everything was awesome. But next we will leave the kid with a babe sitter. :)

Although this restaurant is small the food here is amazing!! Please book in advance to afford disappointment! As a family we decided to get 2 banquets to share between all four of us. Its great value at $69 each that way you get to try lots of dishes. Dishes include garlic bread, calamari, mussels, gnocci just to name a few.The... More

Went here (yet again) with a friend on a weekday evening prior to the annual wine / food week trip. It did not disappoint. We opted for a mix of garlic and herb bread, followed by a trio of pasta to share, and then had the special dessert - an orange pudding with marscapone ice cream. And yes, the dessert... More

We were recommended this tiny Italian trattoria by some friends and were not disappointed. The blue swimmer crab soup was sublime, followed by linguini with prawns pistachios and chili. My husband had the signature grilled mushrooms and roast lamb shanks which were equally delicious. We finished up with the daily desert special an amazing confection of hazelnut sponge, vanilla and... More

Enjoyed a private screening in North Melbourne after work and looked for somewhere for dinner nearby. Tripadvisor pointed us in the direction of Amiconi where we met Michael and his friendly staff. Little did we know of Amiconi's history as an Italian restaurant in Melbourne. We were welcomed and served rather efficiently with menus, olives, garlic bread and bruschetta. Coupled... More

Amiconi is an amazingly authentic Italian "neighborhood" restaurant that doesn't really match the neighborhood (backpacker's hotels and college students). My wife and I were on an extended vacation and needed to do our laundry, and the laundromat was a 15 minute walk. After the clothes were done, we decided to poke around and eat dinner before lugging the clothes back... More

This is a very quaint restaurant - having established themselves in 1950, keeping a tradition of good food and friendly service. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.

Friendly, consistent, real "cook at home" food with the atmosphere of a small yet busy restaurant. I have been going to Amiconi's since 1980, taken family, friends, overseas guests, and business partners. The food is always good, the service and welcome is always personal and friendly. Don't go there expecting the "latest" trends or fashions, go to get a very... More

Amiconi is our favourite place to eat when we want something special, and it never disappoints. The menu doesn't change ( except for the specials ) so we know what we are going to have before we even get there. The calamari would have to be the best I've ever eaten. The restaurant isn't very big and can get a... More

I had forgotten this place existed, I have no idea why I stopped going because it is every bit as good as it always been and that is excellent hearty, honest Italian food. It is like walking into a 1970's restaurant and not even the paint on the walls has changed. The portions are generous very tasty and reasonably priced.... More
