The offerings are what you would expect if you were in Paris. There is a lovely range of lovely French pastries, sweets and breads. I had a pain au raisin, 2 macaroons and a coffee for under $20. The food was superb. The service was friendly and efficient.

Great place with lovely fresh food that is a tribute to its French roots. Service is good and you can sit inside or out which is perfect. Well recommended!

This is a top end cafe/restaurant, with an excellent range of cakes and pastries. The prices are top end, but I would still go back again.

I often come here with my cousin when she is visiting from interstate. We are guaranteed a great coffee and yummy desserts. Service can sometimes be hit and miss.

The sandwiches looked old and weren't very nice. It used to be a lovely cafe, but it has gone downhill.

Visited Laurent Patisserie with a friend while on holiday and was not disappointed. The coffee was the best we'd had in Melbourne, and the cakes were totally amazing. The staff were friendly and was true service with a smile. Will definitely be back for more on my next visit.

Arrived there with my one year old. Ordered some patisseries, a coffee and a hot chocolate. Hot chocolate was terrible. Just heated up milk and some choc powder. Watery, tasteless waste. Not at all what one would expect when coming in for some warm fudge goodness. Especially given the price. Toilets were a huge mess. Had I needed to do... More

Visited twice on a recent trip to Melbourne. Tried a Bora Bora which was a coconutty delight. also the black Forrest after others recommend on here & a beautiful Millefeuille. We have added Laurent as a must visit on our next holiday across the ditch.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
