The Grain Store gets busy. There is always a wait to get in and that’s why I past over it last time I was in Melbourne
This trip I had the time to wait -about 15 mins- to get a table with a steady changeover...More
Good range of food to choose from. Excellent barramundi, spiced cauliflower was OK although a bit lacking in spice. Local wines and beers. Prices reasonable for the area. Service was efficient and pleasant. Well worth a repeat visit.
Amazing food with an impeccable presentation. My friends and I had lunch here and we could not be happier. The food was excellent and the service was very attentive and friendly. We highly recommend it!
We rocked up at the Grain Store without a booking on a Saturday afternoon, three adults in tow with a toddler and a baby in the pram, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us with a table with enough space to...More
After arriving in the city, I asked for cafe and restaurant recommendations. This was one of the places that was mentioned so I decided to stop by for breakfast. I ordered the chorizo omelette, the fried polenta, and a cappuccino. The breakfast was great and...More
Stopped in inner Melbourne for the weekend and chose The Grain Store around the corner for our apartment. Was pleasantly surprised by the experience. We had inadvertently stumbled upon a well known cafe. Luckily even though we hadn’t booked there was a table for the...More

We made a booking for a table of 4 on a Sunday, and we were thankful we did. The place...More
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
