Little simple cafe with nice ambience. I personally enjoyed the oldish music by sitting at a corner around the cafe.

Attracted by the shop décor and really in need of caffeine so had a flat white. I have had numerous coffee in Sydney and Melbourne and the quality does vary a lot and most tend to be a bit weak apart from the Market Lane. Can confidently say this is the best coffee I have had in my 2 weeks'... More

Had 2 amazing cups of pour over coffee here. Friendly baristas. Get to see the process up close. What more can you ask for. Strong coffee just the way I like it. Highly recommended!

Lovely boutique cafe around the Paris end of Melbourne CBD. They are very much into their coffee. Unfortunately no Mocha. Tried their latte , it was too strong for a regular mocha drinker like me.

This coffee was so good. I got hooked on the iced coffee spritz. It's so weird and so good. I've dried to replicated at home with cold brew and have come out disapointed every time. I don't know where the baked goods are made but if they have them make sure to get the tangelo cookie to go with your... More

Friendly and efficient staff delivers the best cappuccino. Accepts debit cards which not all of the vendors inside the market do.

Don't bother asking for skim or other milk variants this place is all about the coffee and it's good. But a bit too popular you will need to queue but a little wait. Takeout only.

Always stop here on the way into Melbourne from the airport when I arrive. Quite a ritual now, and love the coffee and fun service.

Hi guys & gals! Friendly review for Market Lane Coffee, one of our local coffee shops after relocating to Melbourne about a year ago. This place is a bit of an institution - weekends are packed both mornings and there is good reason why. I am by no means a coffee aficionado but I do like great tasting coffee and... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
