We enjoyed a generous sized - family friendly - dietary flexible breakfast - great service. Highly recommend it.

We loved the carbonara and tiramisu. Less so the prawns. The other tables’ pizzas looked soooo good! Always good to be in Max’s. Such an institution on Hardware Lane.

I approached Max Bar and reviewed the substantial menu. The seafood paella jumped out at me. With a good local and international wine and drinks list to compliment the food, I was hooked. Great pricing and value. The paella did not disappoint - so much...More

Due to peak hour traffic we arrived half an hour late but the waiter did not mind. This was a nice lively Italian restaurant. The menu was simple but quite adequate. Promptly served, reasonably well presented and dependably tasty. We had Gorganzola gnocchi, seafood risotto...More

Interesting Laneway location supporting a great eatery. Staff were very helpful with a menu with a vast variety of choice of fine foods.

Mixed reviews from my table of four. I did not enjoy my food. Spanish style pasta - every bite overpowered with dill which isn’t really very Spanish. Garlic bread doughy. Other mains were liked. Slow service

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Food was average - I had the lamb shanks which was terrible and I wouldn't recommend. My husband had Veal and loved it although they served very small portions.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
