Dropped in for a quick drink at this quirky venue before heading out for a meal, found the music was a little too loud to properly hear a conversation and disappointingly it took about 20 mins for our drinks to arrive.

Staff were excellent, helpful is suggesting cocktails but not pushy. Dad loved his 'Tour of Scotland'. Would recommend to anyone.

Saw this Cosy cocktail/gin/whiskey lounge walking to breakfast this morning and a local suggested its a great place to go after dinner. Not wrong thank you stranger. Possibly the best dirty martini I've ever had and finished the night with a nice smokey scotch from their extensive menu. Not to self, must try their famed whiskey and cheese trust the... More

Huge range of cocktails set in a 1920s style theme. Thrid visit here and this time around was again good but let down by slow service with our second drink order of just 2 cocktals taking close to 25 mins to arrive. Not great when we were advised we have to go as the table was booked. Baring in mind... More

Awesome petite cocktail lounge! Amazing choice of drinks and amazing staff 🍸 The Camembert is to lovely, the whisky is great, I don't have a bad thing to say. We are regular visitors of 1806 and we enjoy it every time!

We have a group of friends that go to melbourne once a year, every year. We tend to look for new places to try every visit but this is the one place we ALWAYS return to. Simply the best cocktails I've had (and we do try a lot of cocktail places). The staff are great, always friendly and happy to... More

We booked the cocktail degustation to enjoy during a visit to melbourne and we were not disappointed! The food was delicious, and thr cocktails paired extremely well. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with great music but not so loud you couldn't hold a conversation (I am tired of having to yell to be heard when going out with friends!)... More

Here at 1806 cocktail bar so many choices & lovely staff. Music is a little loud & tends to ruin the mood a little. But worth a visit.

Perfect cocktails and the boys enjoyed a substantial array of whiskey. The bar was moody and the atmosphere and music was great.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
