Visited early May weekday evening. Good daily specials with rice. Most had takeaway & a few people ate in. Nothing special besides the price for South Yarra. I've been back in town again staying across the road & didn't choose it again.

This is our "go to" Thai place all the time. Cheap, fast and good quality Thai food. The $8.50 meals for dinner are so worth it. Pad Seew and the red Thai curry dishes are fantastic. Would highly recommend this place on a cold, wet day for takeaway or just a simple dining place instead of cooking a meal after work.

Try the beef rice, it is yummy. Fast and friendly service! The restaurant itself looks a little downmarket, but the food is great!

Felt like Thai takeaway to have back in apartment staying in for work conference! Smile Thai looked clean, inviting and number f diners! Very basic diner! Service friendly! Food was good, value for money i guess! Was Cheap, but not best Thai ever had for the price! Not sure would visit again, but it wasn't Terrible!!!

Super quick. They make your dishes fresh to order. They have a huge selection of the usual Thai dishes (from seafood, duck, chicken, beef, pork, vegetarian) with daily specials but their regular prices are really cheap! (eg $12-$14 a dish for a generous sized dish!). You do need to order rice separately. Staff are friendly. They have seats to eat... More

Prices were much cheaper than Canberra, and the food was tasty and spicy. We ordered takeaway only, but it was very good.

I hadn't been to smile Thai in a while as I'd moved suburbs. I'm so glad to be back. Amazing good quality food. Really fresh produce & so affordable. Such a welcoming & relaxing place to visit. By no means is it a 5* fancy place but that is this places charm. It's all about good quality food. Defiantly worth... More

When ordering the guy asked if we would like to eat in or take away. We said eat in but then he said we couldn't because they were closing in 20 minutes. We thought it was weird that he asked in the first place but didn't mind having it to takeaway. When we got back we opened the pad thai,... More

Was staying close by and looking for a place for a quick dinner and Smile Thai was just perfect. Great food, great value for money and quick friendly service. No frills but good honest food.

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighborhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
