My Wife and I went for breakfast as it was highly recommended. The restaurant was busy and good and the staff ( waiters and chefs ) were great. The food was delicious, well presented and perfect, and was totally worth it. We are originally from the Gold Coast but work in Ayers Rock resort and should I return to Melbourne,... More

The meals here are really nice. We have tried several different dishes over a few visits and all of them are beautifully presented, very well balanced in flavor and texture and delish. Baked eggs and hot chocolates are a favourite, so is duck confit...for breakfast! Really really nice.

Line up before opening and go straight in when it opens, service and speed of food is excellent. Now as far as the food goes - wow!!! The pics show great presentation and I strongly recommend that u consider the specials rather than a traditional bacon and eggs type meal. Coffee is disappointing and I cannot believe that they would... More

Recommend by a friend. Got seated quickly. The menu is not the average Bacon and eggs breaky we are used to in the Bush. I had the scallops and eggs etc. This just to die for. Wife had the Baked egg , mushrooms etc, loved it. Oh and the coffee is a must. well worth the trip up Lonsdale street... More

Everyone recommends this. Our take? Come for the lobster benedict. Come for their signature mocha. Come for the bread and butter pudding. Come for the baked eggs. Just come. Mmmm :) Visited this place on a weekday morning, so thankfully we missed the long queue.

Upon the recommendation of family, we stood in line outside this establishment for a very short time and were seated at the bar overlooking the kitchen. It was well worth the short wait in the busy lane and I had already made up my mind what I would have for breakfast by watching what the diners in the small front... More

Yum yum yum would be nice if it was bigger so that the wait isn't so long but even though it was very busy staff were still friendly and food still came out fast. The croissant was so delicious!

The queues outside give you an indication of how amazing this place is...though don't let them put you off. We were seated in 5 minutes. The breakfast menu is highly creative & the food is incredible. We sat at a shared table, which may not be everyone's preference...but we felt it added to the experience.

Friends told us this was a much for our Melbourne trip - glad we listened. We had the Baked Eggs Deux, a latte, a hot chocolate (wow!) and croque madam. All were great. Service was so quick, but very friendly.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
