We had trouble finding a table at a couple of posh restaurants but upstairs here wasn't an issue. Had the sirloin steak and it could have come from a top steak house and not been better, keep it up guys

We stopped here for a meal, friendly staff, great charm. Meal is very English which you'd expect. I had a lamb shank in red current sauce and was extremely pleased. The meal is quiet large and came reasonably quick. The bar seems to be downstairs with meals served on the first floor, a lift or stairs are available. Only downside... More

Be sure to check out the website for their specials as a great burger lunch was on offer for $20 while we visited and each night of the week seemed to have good value dinner options (200g Porterhouse Steak for $20 on a Thursday). A very casual feel and good food. We sat upstairs as it was very busy, just... More

Popular bar on weekends with a good music scene. A good crowd and everyone enjoying themselves. Give this place ago. Also offer food downstairs

Most enjoyable, transport 10/10, friendly locals and a bit of history. Will visit again as we missed so much that is there to see.

Popped in here for lunch as it was near out hotel. Hubby had burger and chips and I had the Caesar salad. It was so good. Load of chicken, twice as much as I was expecting plus plenty of tasty bacon bits, Parmesan and croutons. It could even be the best Caesar salad I've had and I've had a few!... More

The Elephant Wheelbarrow has been around for a while now and I think it misses the mark for pub or eatery. I get a lot of pubs now try to have a good menu but I felt like it was struggling to create one. The choice of beer is fantastic on tap, but needed more dark beer options...its winter in... More

Wednesdays are burger special days. $20 for a really generous tasty burger (choice of Angus beef, southern chicken, pulled pork or vegetarian) with nice skinny fries and a pint or wine is good value. Nice cosy pub atmosphere.

Thank Beemnz

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
