We dined here for early dinner when the weather was very cold and had a very pleasant experience. Simple but freshly cooked and tasty dishes. Home made curry puffs and spring rolls that were delicious, chicken curry pilaff with a chilli after-burn. Very reasonably priced and basic table ware, but good for those on a budget.

my kids loved the sweet and sour prawns, hokkien noodles and the dumplings. Like standard chinese restaurants its a family affair of fast cooking and regular customers. Its a good choice and very easy on the budget if you are in the flinders street area.

First off...this isn't a fancy place...basically a takeaway counter with a few seats. Staff are lovely. Food is tasty. The hot and sour soup while not terribly spicy was chock a block full of prawns and chicken -- and a great quick lunch for five dollars! A worthwhile stop on a busy Melbourne day.

Came here for dinner. It's a small shop located at the junction. Only 1 lady taking order, clearing up and serving the diners but she's fast. We ordered beef fried rice, prawn fried rice, sweet & sour fish, chicken dim sum and spicy beef with vege. They're all just ok in taste.

Traditional Chinese fare. Great value and quick service for a quick lunch. Always a queue. Mama may not look happy but I think she is.

I only got to visit here once during my time in Melbourne. Tried a second time but it was shut unfortunately. Its a great location, not too far from Rod Laver and the MCG. Seemed to be popular too. I had a fried rice dish and a drink and it cost little more than $10. The portion was huge and... More

The nasi goreng here is one of my favourite dishes ... the food is always tasty, fresh and hot. The service is quick too, so it's good for a quick lunch or meal on the way to an event.

Popular with locals and visitors. Grab a meal on the way to MCG or Rod Laver. Try the Garlic Prawns - huge, fresh and superb

Was looking for good Malaysian food while in Melbourne and thought might find some pleasure here, it was very disappointing !! Poor quality of food, unwelcoming attitude and they don't have EFTPOS !!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
