Great for a relaxed business dinner. Really interesting menu with an emphasis on seafood but plenty of other great options!

We couldn't get in to the original Movida as we didn't book ahead and we were short on time. So we tried Movida Aqui instead. The place was packed yet the service was great. And we loved the atmosphere! The food was amazing! My favourite was the smoked eel. I wish we live closer so that we can go back... More

Started off with what tasted like 5 day old bread that I could barely chew as it was so old and hard/crusty. Came with some average olive oil and plain white salt. Would have preferred they just did not serve this as was really not a good start. Then had the calamari sandwich which was easily the best item we... More

Friends took us to Movida, we being out of staters. Nice venue and good service. For tapas they are certainly different from some of the ordinary stuff we have had in Spain. Our friends selected for all of us. Anchovy with smoked tomato sorbet was one of the dishes. So tasty and refreshing. Everything ordered was very tasty. Delicious Rioja.... More

The environment is relaxed and open, with a lovely natural light from the large windows opening along the full length of the restaurant to the outside terrace area. It’s the perfect restaurant for a summer evening! We started with the mixture of house marinated olives; the chorizo, which was served in thin slices, salami style; the sardines, which were served... We found this tapas restaurant by chance - we heard it rather than saw it first, and it has a real buzz about it. The food is brilliant, and was very well explained to us by our waitress. The octopus was amongst the best I have eaten and the beef cheek was rich and bursting with flavour. The wine list... More

I went with my family of 7, which the spacious restaurant could easily accommodate. Everything we ordered was distinctly delicious. Tapas were delightfully bite-sized (of course) which meant each well seasoned and tasty dish didn't overwhelm but provided a wonderful symphony of yumminess. The squid ink paella was a highlight too. Service was generally good though the person was served... More

This venue is a very busy one. Sitting near the kitchen shows how the place works. Food, service are extremely good. A must to eat at.

We had an amazing lunch here! Waiter/waitress were so knowledgable about wines & food. Left the ordering up to them and we weren't disappointed. Thank you

Excellent food. Very good and varied wine list. We really enjoyed our meal. The only negative point would be the quality/price ratio. This type of cuisine (tapas et al.) suggests the diners to order dish after dish, each quite pricy. And if one considers the price of the wine list, the evening, if enjoyable, ends being quite expensive.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
