Hubby and I were poached by a very friendly and charming employee out the front :) he was great entertainment! He made sure we had a good seat under the heaters out the front which was quite nice, and the food came quickly as did the drinks. We had the pancetta chicken and the fettucine marinata and both were delicious!... More

Visited Melbourne for 5 days and each time we had dinner in lygon street. Most nights were enjoyable but the little lygon we received the best service from the highly witty staff. Prices were very reasonable and we received free corkage plus complementary bread. Great friendly place in busy lygon street

Gorgeous Al dente Pastas with amazingly flavoursome sauces with ensure you always leave Little Lygon with a smile on your face. Service is incredible - we visited 2 nights apart and the waiting staff remembered the exact bottles of wines and courses we had ordered and our names!!! A great dining experience I would highly recommend to anyone...

The waiter said that it would be fresh pasta, but rather it was fresh from a packet. The sauce was bland. Totally unauthentic! I've had many good pastas from authentic Italian restaurants to compare it with in Sydney's Haberfield area. I do not recommend this at all. Stay away.

Good pasta generously served, but nothing exceptional for the price. The creme brûlée was not so good. Obviously the service was very kind.

I found that the food tasted like it was pre packaged. The pork belly tasted off. The seafood platter for two was good. The prawn linguini lacked flavour and was spicy. The bruschetta was nice with parsley. The food was inauthentic for an Italian restaurant and thus overpriced for what it was offering.

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighborhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighborhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
