Service was good but the place is noisy and sharing tables next to couples that the fighting! Also the food was way to sweet and killed the taste of the pork belly.

We came here with my toddler son and a friend. My son has a peanut allergy, and the staff was pretty happy to go through the menu with us. We ordered the pork belly, which was superb. I found that I had to pour a little of the vinegar sauce to take away some of the sweetness. We also had... More

This is a largely Thai inspired menu. The food was ok here. I think it's a little too sweet for my liking, especially their nam jim sauce. Had the pork belly, which was ok and would've preferred not having the apple with it. Then the price you pay is quite high for what it is. I'd skip past this place... More

Decided to write this review after my fourth visit and I will continue to go back again and again! Great ambience, and the food doesn't disappoint. My favourite meal in their pork belly, simply delicious! A stand out and must do!

Firstly, the restaurant is primarily table sharing so if you don't want this, ensure you request it. It can also get very loud in here so keep this in mind. Aside from this, they serve some seriously amazing food. The staff know the menu inside out and can give you lots of detail about the food . The steamed Bao... More

The taste will leave you begging for more! We went with the $69 set and at no point were left disappointed. The only time I like to eat when I have someone watching me, our waiter was onto it! Fantastic service with a smile! Serving food consistently like that, I would be proud to work there as well! Enough of... More

We returned to Red Spice Road after several years. Having a day in the city, we booked here at lunch time. We ordered the 5 course Express Lunch. You sit at a communal table, and service is prompt and attentive. We have our seats from noon till 1.15 pm. I was worried we would feel rushed, but that didn't happen.... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
