Had lunch here on my own. The place was packed, so I was offered a seat at the bar. Many other places would turn you away. The best option was the buffet in terms of price and trying out more dishes. Spicy chicken wing for an appetiser. It was so tasty. 3 small mains I chose crispy pork belly, noodle... More

The service and food were superb. The dishes were prepared quite quickly and kept the kids happy. However we could not complete our meal as our baby got cranky and we had to leave midway. They do not have any takeaway service and so it was quite a waste for some delicious and expensive food. So if you may be... More

Just writing this post is making my mouth water. Asian fusion at its best with influence from many south east cultures. Seating is community style, and we selected a number of plates to share. They were all fantastic, they boast of their excellent pork belly - for good reason. The dishes had good heat, and the variety was awesome. Fresh... More

Went with family including 2 small chn midweek. Restraunt was busy, a good sign. Waiter placed us strategically seeing as we had 2 littlies....good idea. Kids were good but you never know. Ordered banquet and it was really good with a variety of tastes and generous helpings. Service was good as well. Recommended.

Have been here a couple of times and will keep coming back. This is a cavernous space that has been sectioned off beautifully so that it still has a comfy feel. Staff are there to ensure you have a pleasant experience and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. Caters for vegans and those that are gluten free.

Red Spice is a hot spot especially for large groups. Great service considering how busy they were and the food was absolutely fresh and delicious. It is easier to order the banquet in a large group then it is also easy just to pick a main with some sides. The barramundi was so good, probably my best in a very... More

Been here on numerous occasions, with friends from interstate. Good authentic food, very quick service. I always go for the ribs as a starter. Friendly staff and a reasonable price.

We were very happy we chose Red Spice Road when on a weekend visit to Melbourne. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere great - different sitting up at a big circular share table but you're not really aware of the other people around you and it creates quite a buzz - and the food amazing. We had the $79 set... More

This is usually a faultless experience. Lovely to sit up at the big tables, with lots of other people around, the artwork is great, the atmosphere and lighting spectacular, and the service is always good. Our entrees were superb. Our pork belly main was sublime. Our blue eye main was not blue eye. Very disappointing because if they had simply... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
