Great Food, Excellent Wines, Amazing Service, Atmosphere is always so inviting and great for either a warm summers night to sit outside or equally cosy inside during the cooler months. A true Melbourne identity!

Sat outside for a lovely evening meal here. Heaters for warmth, nice vibe. Food very well cooked, tasty and reasoavly priced. Service prompt and friendly. Great place for a pre theatre meal.

The perfect and my most favourite place that best describes how cool Melbourne truly is. From the al-fresco dining area to the myriad of wines and the rustic tables and benches inside, it is hard to pick what is so amazing about this place. Food is centred around the wines that they have and is perfect for sharing a bottle... More

A really interesting little wine shop that has an extraordinary range of beautifully selected wines from all over. Not cheap but quality, popular thus crowded but comfortable. Great place for a pre-dinner drink or an after-work (cultured) swim-through! The wine rack contains so many different wines that you will need assistance to come to grips with their sense of order!... More

A nice European spot to drop by for a glass of wine, or two. The pasta dishes are also really yummy too. If it's a nice day it's great to get a table outside. Service can be a bit abrupt sometimes - a few more friendly waiters/waitresses would make this place five star.

Jump on a tram for a few stops up to Spring St from the CBD.The wine bar faces The Parliament building, many Bridal parties use the building for their photograph backdrop. We're always drawn here to taste some of their great wines. This visit I tried a glass of Fiano which was a delicious floral (bit peachy) Italian white wine.... More

We were off to see Matilda the musical at the theatre next door so City Wine Shop was a perfect choice for pre theatre wine and cheese. We enjoyed several types of cheese with accompaniments as well a few other share dishes. Very pleasant start to our evening which everyone enjoyed. The smoked salmon was especially delicious. The wine range... More

Had a brunch here for the first time. Oysters, saganaki, some nice French wine. Always good, now introducing the new family generation (son and son-in-law).

the service was friendly and helpful, the food was very good and the wine selection was quite good, you can pick bottles out of the fridge which is different from just looking at a menu. We tried something we knew, but there were plenty of other options.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
