After only a short wait inside while enjoying a beautiful Sangiovese, we were shown to a table out on the path looking at the beautiful building across the street. We had the ploughmans to start, and followed by the Tuna Nicoise, the Lamb Cutlets, and the Chicken schnitzel. All dishes were beautifully presented, and well cooked. The take on the... More

Love this place. Whenever in Melbourne we always come here. Great and interesting wine selection with very knowledgable staff. And the food is fabulous too, from the European next door I think. Wish we had a place like this at home.

Outdoor lunch dining destination opposite Parliament on a Melbourne winters day, great wine & matching food, what more could you want.......more wine!!! Unplanned lunch stop that didn't disappoint. Wine by the glass with small plates to share, light meals or full mains. We opted for a ploughmans plate & charcuterie plate to share with a glass of wine each. Plenty... More

Staff very attentive and knowledgeable on all things wine. Try their mystery wines it's always a good one and value for money while at the same time testing your taste buds. Food - excellent polenta chips, burnt butter sage and kale gnocchi and their famous chicken schnitzel are top shelf standards!!

We decided to visit the wine shop on the recommendation of a local. We sat outside and enjoyed a glass of Shiraz Viognier which was yummy and $13.50 a glass. There's not an awful lot of choice for wines by the glass which was a little disappointing. There's outside seating and heaters and the place has a really nice vibe.... More

What a great place this could be, but sadly the staff need a reminder that it is the customers who they need to look after. Almost no service and what there was came with attitude. The ' wine library ' was awesome and the menu looked great. Decided to have our wine and leave as we didn't feel the love.... More

Great Food, Excellent Wines, Amazing Service, Atmosphere is always so inviting and great for either a warm summers night to sit outside or equally cosy inside during the cooler months. A true Melbourne identity!

Sat outside for a lovely evening meal here. Heaters for warmth, nice vibe. Food very well cooked, tasty and reasoavly priced. Service prompt and friendly. Great place for a pre theatre meal.

The perfect and my most favourite place that best describes how cool Melbourne truly is. From the al-fresco dining area to the myriad of wines and the rustic tables and benches inside, it is hard to pick what is so amazing about this place. Food is centred around the wines that they have and is perfect for sharing a bottle... More

A really interesting little wine shop that has an extraordinary range of beautifully selected wines from all over. Not cheap but quality, popular thus crowded but comfortable. Great place for a pre-dinner drink or an after-work (cultured) swim-through! The wine rack contains so many different wines that you will need assistance to come to grips with their sense of order!... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
