We called in for a hot chocolate, after randomly coming across the shop while wandering. It is small but lovely. The hot chocolate was amazing. You need to like sweet hot chocolate (and we do!). We were impressed with the non-invasive quality service. we will be heading back to try other goodies.....

Walked in to find all 12 tables covered in dirty dishes, yet four staff on duty? Very bizarre attitude and no service. Had to ask someone to clean the table. Extremely slow..., at getting a slice of pavlova on a plate with 2 chocolates and a couple of decorations. Appalling.

After having read all the excellent reviews here on TripAdvisor I had high hopes when I walked into Chokolait in Emporium. A group of three of us arrived at 3pm looking forward to a great afternoon tea. Unfortunately, the first thing we saw when we walked in was that 12 of the 14 tables were empty, except for all the... We enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea here in this quiet spot. The chocolate hot shot to eat was thick and wonderful and the iced fresh fruit indulgence (with strawberries) was very refreshing.

Believe me when I say I don't like Pavlova, I never eat pavlova, but at this wonderful little place I want to gormandise on it. I have never tasted such a light, melt in your mouth, taste sensation as the chocolate pavlova. The serving is huge, but I have always shared it. Soon, I am going to sneak in by... More

I suddenly saw this shop in Emporium when I lost on my way. I searched internet for finding someone's review. Fresh fruits, delicious coffee, sweet cake and kind staffs! I'm gonna visit again. Thanks for my awesome dessert :D

We went here on review from my dad and it did not disappoint. The head chef was really lovely and gave an even more personal touch to the ice-cream special for my 10yo nephew (and made it really kid friendly!) The waitress was so lovely and was really kind and polite to my 3yo nephew when we picked his chocolates.... More

I always go for the hot milk chocolate that I describe as orgasmic... But they have lots of choice and flavours so you can't go too wrong!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
