We were craving a dessert after our sushi lunch in the mall, and when we came across this place we were attracted by the hot chocolate photo it had at its window. Boy, oh boy, what a place. We tried hot chocolate, cold chocolate, chocolate fondue, and an amazing chocolate taste. Absolutely everything was fantastic, so tasty, well prepared and... More

I love a quality hot chocolate, and hate the standard offering most cafes do. So when visiting Melbourne I did some research & Chokolait was well recommended. Have had previous success at Koko Black & Lindt, but the classic Dark Hot Chocolate was a clear winner over some very good competition (sampled all 3 over a weekend!)

Stopped into dwy with my kids. It's in an arcade with steps at one end and flat entrance at the other. Plenty of seating, yes it has space for a pusher or a walker. Staff were friendly and efficient. Price were on par with similar chocolate stores. I'd recommend this place over the Koko Black which is only 100m away.

Bewitched by the promise of an exquisite chocolate experience we entered this sweet world. Welcomed by the gorgeous moustached maitre d'hote, we were shown to a table for two. Lucky us. All the other tables were occupied or had a "reserved" sign. Difficult choice to order from the range of delightfully tempting treats. We settled for a tall iced chocolate... More

The pavlova is absolutely delicious and so is my favourite cinnamon hot chocolate. Great service as well.

I have stopped by Chokolait several times for the hot chocolate. It is the best that I've had. I'm not a big chocolate person but this is addictive. It's a great way to visit the Block & Royal Arcades and treat yourself.

This is the most gorgeous little chocolate shop / cafe. I was in heaven The chocolate pavlova with drizzled chocolate and strawberries is to die for. The hub is tucked away lovely and peaceful compared to some other chocolate shops. Discovered it on a chocolate walking tour, and so glad, as I always visit when going to Melbourne. Make sure... For chocolate lovers, it doesn't get much better - so many options to choose from. Not really a cafe but if you are looking for a cup of rich chocolate, this is the place. Easy to get to and well located amongst all the fashionable laneways of the CBD.

As someone who has coffee out almost every day, I am always delighted to find a new place I haven’t been to that serves great coffee. But to find somewhere that serves amazing coffee and sensational chocolates too - that’s heaven, an apt description of Chokolait, a lovely little chocolate salon my Mum and I stumbled upon on our recent... Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
