Salmon burger is really good and fresh and there is often a few minutes of waiting but it's worth the time and patience. Sushi is best if one is rushing. Very limited sitting area and the joint is tiny.

When our overseas visitors declared that they did not eat red meats we decided that Sea Salt would be the best place to eat. And we were right! We had not been to this place for quite a few seasons and WOW, the place has really grown! I remember coming to Sea Salt on our usual jaunts to Nova and... More

We had lunch at sea salt. I had the fish and chips which were disappointing. The kids had burgers. The place had a nice feel to it but I expected far more from the food. Pretty average fish and chips. Could have got better from a street stall. No further visits for me!

Friendly efficient staff, well able to cater to the busy Lygon Street lunchtime crowds. Sushi is generously sized and so fresh. Recently renovated premises that now include a café with an extensive menu seems to be a hit.

They have terrible customer service. They put the wrong meal on my table, then charged me for two meals claiming that I knew it wasn't my meal, when I actually didn't know. The manager was rude and arrogant and made all the staff hostile against me without even letting me explain my case. It's a shame because food is great,... More

Recently renovated, a modern new approach to a dining experience that is relaxed with fast service and fresh sushi and hot delicious fish and chips.... Great for brunch, or lunch or a quick meal at night... recommended

I used to visit this café with my late grandmother. it has recently been renovated. The cafe is now a modern and stylish cafe to enjoy favorites like fish and chips or healthier options like salads or sushi.

I was here with my family and we're all big eaters. I had a soft shell crab burger and was the happiest kid on the block after it. Would prefer this over McDonald's anytime. Definitely coming back and will pack some to eat on my way to the airport before going home.

I had a fish burger and chips here. It was fresh and very tasty. Great burger bun which kept its form and didn't dissolve away! Generous filling with piping hot fish, sauce and fresh salad. The chips were very good too.

Introduced a Singaporean family to dine here as I've eaten here several times since 2012, whenever i dropped into Lygon St. Ordered flathead & barramundi for fish & chips, & they were so good that we ordered twice. The fried ones were more tastier than grilled. The salads were aplenty. Sashimi salmon were thick, fresh & as always, oiishi. The... More

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighborhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighborhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
