Not what i would normally expect for breakfast. I tried the sardines for breakfast. Wasnt sure what to.expect, however when it came out and we tried it, it was absolutely amazing- and different. Forgot the bacon and eggs... try something differnt. You wont be disappointed. Would go back to check out the breakky or dinner menu some time soon.

Was recommended this spot and it did not disappoint. Our Chilean Waitress was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. The wine selection was extensive and in good taste, and the food was delicious. I have recommended it to any one else who visits Hobart as a must try - only if you're ordering the Arancini!

Like a lot of business people from time to time I had a business meeting over lunch at Smolt. Had interstate business contacts and they wanted to try this restaurant. Any restaurant that charges nearly $40 for a main (and $20 for dessert) should ensure that it meets the basic standards of service, quality and quantity. We had a mixed combination of small plates and all the food was well cooked and tasted good however was very expensive for what it was and we found much better places selling quality food at more reasonable prices. The oysters were seriously hiked .. the tiniest ones we'd had and at almost $5 a pop !

With a name like Smolt, situated next to a Tassal Salmon shop and with a massive floor-to-ceiling tank of salmon in the entrance, you would think this restaurant specialised in seafood. The food was good, but as you'll find in most places in Tasmania it is a bit expensive for what you get. The calamari was quite good.
