My family eat here regularly and we haven't had a disappointment in fifteen years. The banquets are great value and usually more than we can eat. Three of us generally eat for under $80 excluding drinks. Menu is small compared to some other places which enables them to do what they do very well. The malai kofta is the best... More

I really like the environment of the restaurant. Nice peaceful quiet and I'm the only customer that afternoon. The curry is perfect. I love it so much. However, the rice is not fresh, it's microwave rice with a burning hot plate. The staff is really nice and kind. I give 4/5.

Most dishes had a good taste and some nice touches to them, but all of them were missing a bit of punch, spice and flavour. The Naan bread was a bit too thick and chewy. Just small details here and there to improve. Would I go again? Maybe, why not. Could I cook a better Indian meal at home? Probably.... More

Hadn't planned on coming here as we've been disappointed with all Indian food we've eaten since visiting India itself, however we couldn't go past the tantalising aromas that were wafting outside. We were not disappointed. The service was impeccable with friendly and attentive staff. We had the special banquet for two people (which was huge) with a mixed plate entree... More

I have eaten Indian since I was young and have had it from many different places but whilst on holidays I had the luck of trying this place. My partner and I believe this to be the best Indian we have ever had! The naan was beau and fresh and fluffy and the curries were creamy and super tasty! I... More

Visited on a Saturday night. Inside was very warm (much appreciated on a cold July night) and the food was great. Had a mixture of vegetarian and meat/fish curries and all were good. Good value with 5 curries, rice and garlic Naan bread under $100

The naan at this restaurant is the best we've tasted! We have eaten Indian across Australia, Singapore and Laos. The naan here is just delicious. Not to mention the chicken korma, mahkan and the very spicy beef vindaloo. It was all amazing. The staff were really friendly and made us feel really comfortable in the restaurant. Great Indian food and... More

Its hard to believe we have ignored this Indian restaurant for so long even though it is one of the original in Hobart. But after our first visit in many many years, thanks to the insistence of friends, it certainly won't be long before we return. Even though it was a busy Saturday night, we were warmly welcomed to our... More

The Tandoor Curry House has been a part of Hobart's restaurant landscape for a very long time. In a small city where there's nowhere to hide, there's a reason for that. The premises is small, almost clostrophobic, with limited atmosphere provided by the budget decor. However the service and the quality of the food are a different matter. The staff... More
