On a cold, damp Hobart night it was great to step inside the restaurant and be met with the warmth from the fire and the bright smiles of the staff. The food was great. We were a party of five and ordered four seafood dishes and one chicken dish and everybody really enjoyed their selection. The staff were fantastic -... More

Twice I have run conferences in Hobart and both times a large number of people ended up at the Drunken Admiral and they all raved about it. They said the food was fantastic and the service was excellent due to the ongoing banter, Some went back the second night as well!

Our first meal for our tassie holiday. Everything was perfect! The flavours of both the oysters and the main meals were amazing - hot rock salmon & salmon steak. Service was great as well. Might have to visit again before the week is finished.

Highly recommend this place. Beautiful food - the Fishermans grill was amazing - beautifully made seafood. Our kids ordered the vegetarian option - the spaghetti which was actually delicious (don't think I have ever had pasta seasoned and made well at a restaurant that is predominantly meat/seafood) and seasoned beautifully. The staff are fantastic and extremely helpful and courteous. Highly... More

The menu takes too many liberties in describing the food incorrectly, which is bland and oily. Paying 30 or so dollars for something out of a kids menu is not a fun evening. Avoid at all costs, it's busy for the wrong reasons!!

This is a very satisfactory pub in the heart of the harbour tourist district. The food is excellent, had good service and useful advice. The waiters all seem busy but are happy to assist with directions or info'. Also they had Sullivan's Cove Whiskey which is not that easy to find!
