This is your typical overrated tourist restaurant. Crowded, cramped, smelly, rushed, noisy more akin to McDonald's than fine dining. Food is a 5 out of 10. Service is very good and the shining light of the establishment. THE "DA" has been there a long time and established a reputation for bustle, fun and seafood. I think teenagers would love it.

This place has two sittings - 6pm and 8.15pm. We arrived early at 5.45pm and they didn't open their door until precisely 6pm. Staff were friendly and efficient, the decor was like a ship's interior, atmosphere was very cosy. Drinks and food came out super fast almost to the point that we felt rushed. The food was very nice but... More

Good food, although not gourmet. Wonderful quirky surroundings. Good friendly service . Blah blah (to fill up space as TripAdvisor won't accept less than 100 characters!)

We come to Hobart a couple of times a year and always make it a must to have dinner here. Last night we had a terrific meal (Japanese Traweller prawns and the mussels) delicious and very generous serves. Atmosphere is fantastic and the serving staff polite and very helpful. See you again in May!!!!!

Visited here during the boat race. The restaurant was packed which made for a good atmosphere. My partner and I naturally opted for seafood and we weren't disappointed, although expensive we thought it was good value. We would happily recommend this restaurant.

No services at all. We have called for the menu, bottle of water and even paying the bills need to wait for 15 mins or so. We have ordered the platter. The food is below average and some prawns was a bit mushy or rotten kind of taste.

I took a colleague from the uk to the drunken admiral for dinner tonight and was shocked with the rude, surly and dismissive attitude of the staff, especially when I asked to be moved from the doorway of the noisy kitchen - several other customers were complaining about the service as we walked out. i cant recommend this restuarant

We loved the food in this restaurant with its OTT nautical decor. Service was excellent. The staff worked well as a team. Our fish and seafood arrived on sizzling stones so it's up to decide how well cooked you want your food and we were given generous bibs into the bargain. Would definitely recommend.
