Over the last weekend, I recently enjoyed a family gathering celebrating an important parental anniversary. We had dinner booked at Alexander's at Lenna's, an established hotel in the old district of Battery Point near Hobart's waterfront. The old charm of the colonial entrance, the high...More

Ate on 18 August and could not fault service, quality of food, wine menu, nothing. I am on a special diet and my meal was better than perfect. There are many instances at other restaurants when simple instructions are ignored but not at Alexander's.

Alexanders has had a make over since my last visit probably about 10 years ago. Gone are the heavy plush curtains and dark decor and in its place is a light bright restaurant. It isn't huge, basically two good-sized rooms with tables discreetly apart from...More

Our voucher entitled is to two entree, usually about 19$, two mains, usually about 35$, and two drinks, about 7$ each. Pretty good value for $69. Service was excellent, attentive and prompt. Meals were beautifully presented, although somewhat meagre. I'd be feeling underwhelmed had I...More

The night we dined at Alexander's it didn't appear to be a busy night. The restaurant is essentially two rooms. There was a table of four and a table of two in one half of the restaurant and two tables of two in the other...More
