After looking at the menu everyone decided a degustation was what we wanted. The food itself was great... some dishes were a standout (kangaroo and beef). We opted to order our own wine rather than matched with degustation... seemed expensive to do it that way....More

We did the degustation. They do a terrible job of explaining the fantastic value it is. They explain it's five courses but they don't explain how many dishes they bring out as part of one course. We loved the food. Modern Australiana. Service was fine....More

We dined as a group of 10 from the regular menu and the service was faultless. Despite vegans, vegetarians and other dietary requirements, none had to wait for their meals and we were all very satisfied with our choices. The meat lovers were especially pleased...More

Last year I gave the Red Ochre 4 out of 5; this year if I could I would give it 6 out of 5! We booked a table of 7 including interstate guests for 4 July, my wife's birthday, taking advantage of the Festival of...More

What an enormously disappointing restaurant. First off the venue was freezing inside. We mentioned this to maitre d' who said all tables are under an air vent (ie. we won't move you despite many free tables) and the air recycles and then heats back up....More

Tasting plate of three starters were disappointing and forgettable ('snapper croquette': a doughy, vaguely fishy deep-fried ball; kangaroo kransky which was quite nice on stodgy rye bread with vinegary sauerkraut; and bland lukewarm pumpkin soup in an espresso cup); kangaroo tail main was tough and...More

Red Ochre is one of my favourite restaurants based on its location, outlook, quality of food and the fact the food is innovative and incorporates many Australian indigenous ingredients. The tasting plate was very good with pumpkin soup, kangaroo chorizo sausage and fish. However I...More

Beautiful surroundings situated on the River Torrens. Food is mouthwatering if you're game for game. Crocodile, Kangaroo and Emu cooked to perfection. Desserts and Cocktails are indulgent and include delicious Australian Flora. One miniscule gripe was plate wasn't hot enough, other than that everything was...More

Literally sitting on the water the restaurant has beautiful river views and wonderful night time city views from every seat in the restaurant. The restaurant is a 10 minute walk along the River Torrens from the Adelaide Festival Centre and or 10 minutes cab ride from any city hotel. Additionally there is ample free parking.
