This is a cheap place to come for good, authentic Malay/Indo food. It's a tiny restaurant which have fast turnover of tables, serving fast food. You have to come and try it.

As per it's name, mimicking those street stall types found in Malaysia and other parts of Asia. Almost a hole in the wall concept with seating for approx 20-30. Very popular with O/S students looking for that home style cooking from Malaysia/Indonesia. No alcohol served but honestly you don't need it with the tasty asian spices & curries. Food is... More

Went to Mamak Corner for something quick to eat before the Adele Concert as it was very busy in the city and also at Mamak Corner. We ordered some Malaysian dishes which I though lacked in flavour and they also didn't have any Roti. Service was OK for such a busy day. Perhaps we need to try again another day.

A great "student café". Good food at cheap prices. Roti Channai, Nasi Lemak and other traditional Malay dishes. Take away or eat in. I had the Nasi Leamk with fish curry and Veg Char Kuey Teow on different days and both were yum.

Another great place for Indonesian/Malaysian food! Located on Bank Street, it's a little shop serving really nice Malaysian drinks (tea and coffee) and not to forget, the most delicous curries and fried noodles!

popped in for a quick meal pre theatre and we were not let down. The food is tasty and good. There are no frills and no alcohol. However the good thing is that it was so quick that we had time to pop to a bar for a pre theatre drink also. Have never tried the sweets but they look... More

Dunked in to this place as it was pouring down and we were hungry. Tidy, small place frequented by students. Ordered nasi goreng and Malaysian roti with side dish. Food arrived very quickly and we were pleasently surprised at how good it was. It had a steady stream of patrons and did very brisk business. Worth a try.

All the dumplings are prepared fresh at the Mandoo. They are so healthy and delicious. It is a small place, so sometimes you have wait to get a table, But worth it.

This isn't a fancy sit-down place eat, but it isn't really like the other crowded restaurants near Chinatown either. It combines the best of both worlds, with a cheap array of meals ($10-12ish for most mains, $6-8 for the takeaway roti dishes). It provides friendly service, isn't too crowded, and (most important for me) the quality of the ingredients PARTICULARLY... More
