Delicious!

I was not feeling particularly inspired by anything on offer as we perused the menu boards outside the restaurants that were open for lunch. That was not their fault - I just didn't know what I wanted to eat. This changed when I saw the Bel Cibo menu. I had the seared scallops, which were very... read more

Went to Bel Cibo for NYE 2015 and had their set-menu, which consisted of a 5 course meal - all of which was very enjoyable and wasn't too expensive considering what was on offer. The waitresses were lovely and accommodating, especially to our request of not rushing between courses (which had actually been suggested by one of them). We must... More

Headed here for dinner last week especially so we could enjoy the tasting platter which sounded great on the menu. We had a platter each as clearly it is not listed as a share platter as a previous diner claimed. Had to drink from the bowl the ceviche after I finished as soooo good - then did the same to... Thanks for a great review & fantastic that you have enjoyed several lunches with us also, excellent to read. Glad you enjoy my responses. Plenty people comment on them, some a little to precious, but there is always 2 sides to a story & it's better than not commenting at all. Cheers. More

Good Italian food (liked the gnocchi quite a bit), nice kids menu. Hit the spot for an evening meal but nothing special. Service was average and there is no bathroom in the restaurant itself as it is in a mall type complex which requires a short walk.

Thanks for your good review. I'm pleased you enjoyed your gnocchi & the children too. For our other readers we do have our own toilets on the west side of the restaurant. Not sure how you ended up at the Saltwater complex toilets but at least you got to go. Cheers. More

Travelled to Port Douglas for a wedding over the weekend in a group of 30 pax. Around 12 adults and 3 kids of the group decided we would go out for dinner Friday night to see some of what PD is known for - the yummy food! We didn't know where we wanted to go, so did a lap of... More

It's always disappointing to read such negative feedback about my families restaurant. After discussing the incidents you have raised with the waiter, it seems that the story has turned into a tale. Not the fairy kind either. The issue is with only 4 people booked & 2 quiet evenings prior, the floor team ran with 1 less staff member than what... More

We enjoyed our pasta and the accomodation itself. Service could be a little bit better. It was all rushed and I like to dine at ease. Overall we enjoyed our meal and evening here! :)

Very nice area, the staff are lovely but with only 2 people on the ground and many people on tables the service was a little slow but however the food was amazing and would definitely go there again!

The staff were very friendly. We thought the fish sharing platter was expensive for the size of the serving but was very tasty. The risotto was tasty and creamy.

Thank you for an excellent 5 star review & I'm pleased that you enjoyed your risotto. I think there must be some confusion in regard to the expensive fish sharing platter as this is not something we offer. We do have a Seafood taster plate ( for one) that consists of Smoked Salmon w citrus mascarpone / Local Reef Fish... More

Having reviewed the negative reviews of this restaurant it is clear the owner cannot take any criticism at all. Maheno - OCT 2015 wrote that she was unhappy as they were charged for a side dish that came after the meal wash finished and the owner stated she must be mistaken it cannot be his restaurant. Impossible for such a thing to happen in HIS restaurant. He then goes on to try and shift the blame onto ANOTHER restaurant!?

I wrote a bad review for my experience at this restaurant earlier in the year and the owner attacks me for it. Even attacking my appearance in my profile pic!

@ KiwiChef, people are entitled to write their opinions and complain if they have had a bad experience. Your response to those opinions and complaints reflects your customer service skills, your ability to take and handle criticism and just your general maturity. You attack every person who has a negative opinion about their experience at your restaurant. I'm sure if I go again I might have a better or even a perfect experience, but the time I visited I didn't and you shouldn't attack people who don't praise you, your food, staff and venue.

Last thing, it's extremely low and scummy behavior to try and blame another restaurant for a bad review YOU received (as mentioned above). You actually say of the bad review "there is another Italian Restaurant in Port Douglas - Bucci, they seem to have many negative reviews on their TA page about food & service.I agree with you & just cannot fathom that happening here.Ciao" I notice it is not the first time you try to blame this restaurant. I'll be letting them know so they can report you.

I'm sure you're going to have a charming and professional response ready for me after hearing some hard truth. I feel sorry for the poor staff member you're going to force to reply to this.

I hope people catch on to you. Kiwi "Chef".
