Priced to be "special" and menu looks like it should be tasty but honestly, very plain and you come away feeling both hungry and a bit ripped off. I had the world's most tasteless scallops and the barramundi which was better but only filling if you've got a lap-band. My partner had salty something or other and four bites of... More

Something must be wrong just recently based on recent reviews. We chose Harrison's after a walk around the main shopping precinct of Port Douglas. The food we were served was very interesting and delicious, different tastes. The nice night was spoiled by very slow service. We had an almost 2 hour gap between courses. We didn't want a rushed night,... More

A warm night with an ideal setting, it could have been a great evening. But it wasn't. I should have heard the alarm bells ringing when I ordered a glass of bubbles....but they didn't have any, so had to have a glass of flat white.(the table next to us couldn't get the bottle of red they ordered but had to... We vowed last year we would not return to Harrison's but, hey, everyone has an off night. This years visit began well, with a very cheery young lady showing us to a table on the verandah. We were given menus and wine list. Would we like some water?...yes please. We waited...and waited. Eventually my husband got up, found a jug... More

Having been recommended this restaurant we booked it as our first in PD. We arrived to a clearly overbooked restaurant. We were seated on a jury-rigged table in front of the building near the reception desk. We thought it might be bad when the waitress told us there were some large tables but were somewhat placated when she offered complimentary... More

Having booked booked early in the day we were advised on arrival there was no reservation. We were treated as liars until they discovered the wife of the boss had forgotten to record it. Prior to this discovery we were guided to a table in the back stalls while a table we were after lay set but unused during our... More

We were attracted by beautiful setting but Harrisons is not as good as it looks from the outside. Service is excellent, attentive but not over bearing. Drinks list including cocktails very nice. Menu a little limited. Bread was accompanied by jar of lard. Quite sickening. Entree of nashi pear and ricotta better suited to dessert menu. Kingfish main served with... More

We were told Harrison's was a must try restaurant in PD. Unfortunately, we must have got them on an off night - quite disappointing considering the hype we've heard and read and the prices charged. On arrival, we were seated in the front deck. Unfortunately, it was raining and our kids were getting wet. He staff wouldn't move us and... More

We visited Harrison's last night and found the Food to be excellent but the service is a lot to be desired! We arrived as a table of 3 and was shown to a table of 2 despite booking several days in advance. It was only set up for 2 and all they did was bring another seat. We had to... More

We came to enjoy a night without children. Harrison's did not disappoint. Lovely service, great food and a picture perfect setting made it a lovely romantic night out.

Harrisons Restaurant exists in a setting that is made for romance and fun. The colonial style house and colourful gardens create a wonderful atmosphere for cocktails, romantic dinners and celebratory events. Food is skillfully created using produce that is always fresh and preferrably local. Spencer Patrick, owner of Harrisons, has navigated Harrisons as an award winning restaurant since it's inception in 2007. Harrisons has consistently held national accolades for it's food and wine and stands alone as Port Douglas' only One Hat rated restaurant in the QLD Good Food Guide. Spencer's style draws from his training in classic French cuisine and love for all things English. His belief is that good food can be enjoyed any where in the world, but what better place to enjoy it than in Paradise!
