You will not regret a trip for dinner to Green Ant. Great service and the food does not disappoint. The wings are delicious, and fajitas are amazing. The atmosphere is very laid back, book early for a booth it can get very busy.

We went here on a weekend evening and there was no place to sit, the food was good but the place was small and extremely busy. For those wanting to drink in a bar atmosphere this is the perfect place for you.

This is a place that comes alive at night. With tables inside and benches outside there is surprisingly more room to sit and eat than you might think. The decorations inside give the cantina its chilled out feel, whilst the long benches outside invite people to chat and mingle while waiting for their food. The food is really decently priced... My husband and I love Mexican food and were excited to try this restaurant. We called to make a reservation and were told there would be a table for us…upon arriving, we were directed to find ourselves a seat in the back bar area? (There were picnic tables in front of the restaurant, several booths inside and a bar area... More

Great little cantina. Had a group of 22 for dinner. Great meals - big size. Nice atmosphere and the service was good. Well priced. HOWEVER, take care if you order the hot wings challenge - this is SUPER SUPER hot! And not to be taken lightly. Enjoy.

Really great food and their own beer brew was fab too! We had the spicy cheesy dip, fish tacos and pork quesadillas. The place is a bit out of the centre but worth it !

Mexican food here was really flavoursome and very reasonably priced. My boyfriend had the chicken and chorizo fajitas which had an orange glaze flavour, portion was huge, i has the mega mexi plate from the backpackers menu which was great value for money. The bar has a really cool, chilled out vibe. Decor is really quirky and the staff were... More

The food here is good and plentiful, often one plate between two will suffice. It's tasty and the beer is not bad. The service can be very slow, one time they forgot our order, but after a 90 minute wait they gave it to us for free. The reason why I don't give them a four star - a cockroach... More

The Green Ant Cantina is Cairns' best kept secret and has become an institution among its regulars since opening in 2001. We are unique in that we are a bar, a restaurant, a music venue and can cater for functions and parties. Our food takes inspiration from South American, Caribbean and Baja Californian cuisines which showcase the amazing fresh produce available to us here in Cairns. Margaritas, Mojitos and Sangria will quench your thirst along with a beautiful little wine list that focuses on vegan, organic and sustainable wines. We began Green Ant Brewing Co. in 2012 with our ethos to brew small batch craft beers that are additive and preservative free. Our ever growing range boasts a Pilsener, a Pale Ale, a Premium Lager, a Ginger Beer, a Honey Wheat Beer, a Strong Brown Ale and an Imperial Stout.
