Dinner for two was quite enjoyable. This restaurant is very well presented with friendly staff, though the waitering is not personalized.

My wife and I just had dinner at Tamarind. We both agree that it's 5/5 restaurant. The food was simply amazing, could not fault it. We had shared tasting plate for entree which included tuna dish, salmon dish & beef cheek dish. All of the were simply divine, the salmon was my favourite. We then shared main of duck curry... More

7 course degustation, one explanation WOW Must do. The wait staff ensured our experience was memorable. We felt as though we were the only dinners, although the restaurant was fully booked. A special thank you to our waitress French Andreianne. We will return.

My wife Cynthia and I are Cairns locals with discerning tastes. Had dinner here again last night. It was just awesome. The staff were wonderful and friendly and then came my eye fillet medium rare and Cynthia had a fish dish cooked to perfection. We travel a great deal and I must say the overall "experience" at Tamarind has not... More

Menu is very creative with interesting combinations of Asian flavors. Had the tuna sashimi appetizer, which paired up nicely with the salmon roe and the yuzu caviar. But the lemon curd did not match at all with the flavor profile! Lotus root veggie curry was delicious. I particularly enjoy much more heat in my curry, but understand that the restaurant... More

On the first night of Tour, our group ate here - but could only choose from two appetizers and two main dishes. My wife and I both had the vege soup - a little bland - but good. My wife had a chicken dish - I had fish - and both were tasty - with large portions. Our tour also... More

I had asked a friend who works in Cairns for the name of the best restaurant in town for my last night. He replied Tamarind, you have to have the 8 course degustation menu with wines. He also asked if he could join me. From the moment we walked in till we left 3 hours later we were treated to... More

We last visited this restaurant around 5 years ago. Lovely room, perfect lighting, crisp white tablecloths. The service was excellent. The menu really hasn't changed that much in 5 years, and we found it a little limited. We were intrigued by the entree of Braised Spring Onions (tapioca pearls, asparagus, macadamias, grapefruit miso), but ended up sharing the entree of... More

Reserve restaurants like this for those special occasions. It would deb a shame to end up considering such an excellent experience as just ordinary. The establishment goes out of their way to create the excellent dining experience, so it feels right to reserve it for those special occasions. Service, ambiance, food are all excellent. The only small negative was a... More
