We chose to take a drive into Cairns to eat at the Bayleaf to see if it lived up to its great reviews on TripAdvisor. We didn't have a booking on a Saturday night but in good Balinese tradition we were shown to a table...you definitely need to book if you want a table outside. The drinks, the service, the... More

Try the Balinese rijsttafel perfect with children. Definitly do the adaptive wine. The wine is very good but be careful you only get one glass per course.

We ordered 'Mie Goreng' and it was the best food we've ever had so far. Highly recommend going when you are staying in Cairns or nearby. Delicious!!!

This restaurant is near the Cairns hospital within easy reach from the Esplanade. It was pleasantly decorated and a romantic venue for couples with outside dining. I had as my main the marinated grilled fish of the day in banana leaf and my husband the the braised beef in count milk. Both dishes were delicious and presented beautifully in true... More

Completely unexpected food from a resteraunt attached to a budget friendly hotel. The 10 minute walk out of Cairns town is well worth it for the food dished up at Bayleaf. Do yourself a favour and book a table outside in advance (one night notice was fine for us). The satay entree was delicious especially the peanut sauce and salad... More

Just had dinner here and apart from the location we could have been in Bali where we go often. Excellent service and delicious authentic Balinese food - not cheap but would recommend 😊

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Cairns. Set back behind the esplanade and Hospital, the location is quiet and tranquil. We kicked off our night with Happy hour at the bar, before enjoying satays and then the main courses. Food was traditional and splentiful. Price was mid range, but we were more than happy with our evening. Walk away... More

We dined at this restaurant twice while in Cairns. Loved it. The first night we dined with our children (9, !6) and the waitress recommended food choices the children would enjoy. The 2nd time we dined as a couple and ordered the banquet with wine matching. We felt the price was excellent and food was well presented and very good.... More

I had never had Balinese food before and went here with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The crocodile Kebab sticks were wonderfully served on a mini-charcoal BBQ which contributed to the smoky flavour and presentation. We planned on coming back but did not manage.
