Dinner last night, been going on and off since opening night nearly 20 years. Lovely wait staff, average food. Wagyu tongue overpowered by sauce and crab pasta mushy conglomerate. Desert disappointing. Not the same E'cco - a pity. Bring back fresh and simple and beautiful please.

We came to this place with high expectation, because it's rewarded by good food. I have to say the food was nice. The beef we ordered showed the pink color, but it was a little dry when I ate it. We also tried three different desserts and they were amazing. However, the service was pretty average. Overall, it's a nice... More

I'd heard it was good, but it was amazing. Just the right amount of food in the degustation so you didn't feed overfull. Great matching wines, lovely service. Up there with Quay, Tets, Sepia, Attica and Vue!

Had the slow roasted lamb for two and a side of sweet potato for dinner. Best I've ever had! Francois was a wonderful host. We weren't rushed through, but made to feel welcomed. Cocktails were delicious. Atmosphere was great. Advice on the menu was very helpfull. I could have happily returned for the same meal the following night. Will definitely... More

I have reviewed this restaurant in the past. It's been around for 20 years which says a lot. Philip Johnson, Chef and owner still has the passion. We had the tasting menu with accompanying wine. With 5 courses there was plenty to eat and the dished were sensational. Great friendly service even with a full restaurant. Seriously good all around.

One of the delicious place to eat in Brisbane. The charges are on upper end but worth paying for the tasty food. Service is also good and fast. We went on a weekday afternoon so was not much crowded and had a great time in a relaxed environment. They have good collection of champagne and wines. We requested sweet champagne... More

Dined here on a Saturday night which was quite busy, like any restaurant on a Saturday. Our oysters that we had were delicious, not too salty, and pleasant. Our octopus and lamb entrees were delicious, however a waiter dropped them to the table beside us who were doing the tasting menu. It took a couple of minutes for a waiter... More

Attended Friday Night Entrees - Good but not up to normal exceptional standard. Spanner Crab Tagliatelle not quite aldente but 8/10. Tomato salad a bit tart... Mains - Ducha Duck and the Suckling Pig were brilliant! 10 out 10 Wines by the Glass - about $10 - $14 were really ordinary .... Though the by the bottle list was more... More

I’ve wanted to eat here as soon as I heard all the rave reviews and saw the pictures of the amazing dishes. Alas, it has taken a long time to getting around to dining here. We booked in using the Dimmi app and had no troubles. Browsing the online menu we’d pretty much decided what to eat even before we... More

Visited with my sister-in-law as part of a mini-break. 6:15pm sitting and there were already tables occupied. Seated promptly and then offered to move us as the table next to us was a party of 8 and likely to be loud. Very thoughtful. Waiter attentive without hovering. Ordered wine from extensive (12page) wine list. Good range of local and international... More

To much anticipation by Philip Johnson's strong local following, e'cco bistro opened its doors in 1995, starting what has turned out to be a Brisbane landmark restaurant. Located in an historic building on the fringe of Brisbane's central business district, the century old former tea warehouse oozes with character an ambiance. Almost twenty years on, e'cco underwent a total refurbishment in October of 2014, giving it a contemporary look, yet preserving the inviting, warm bistro feel that has stood the test of time.

As Philip says "We do as little as possible with the best ingredients available."
