Good food, enjoyed it.

We took some friends here for dinner and we all loved it. The veg samosas were good. I ordered naan with paneer, pumpkin curry with spinach. Hubby had malai kofta and a paneer dish with corriander and ginger (and he said it was fab). It's BYO and the food is reasonably priced.

I am travelling to India this year solely because I have eaten at this place. If the food over there is half as good, the trip will be the best time of my life. If you think you can find a better curry with staff as hospitable as "The Taj" in Brisbane... you are dreaming.

So disappointed with my local and used to be favourite restaurant. This year it's really gone downhill. I've told them the last 3 times how disappointed we were with the food, but it hasn't improved. Unfortunately, I'm not going to go anymore. It's sad - it used to be good.

Taken here by family who recommended it based on weekly takeaway food. Staff were friendly and pleasant but service was a little confused with some food not arriving consecutively so having to wait for complete meal so one could start eating. e.g had to ask for rice twice to go with curry which was already served. Not asked re drinks... More

Being form london and having travelled India and Bangladesh several times, I'm a hugh lover of this cuisine.. this is not Southern Asian cuisine. I ordered Saag Gost, a dry spinach curry.. I received what looked like a tin of undrained spinach with some lamb overcooked elsewhere thrown in. i tried some of all my friends dishes and they were... More

Last night my partner and I ate at the Taj Mahal after reading rave reviews. For the entrée those reviews were entirely justified. Absolutely beautiful!!!! The vegetable samosas were incredible. The service was sub par. Not particularly friendly, though not rude either, and not a smile in sight. Our mains came out and we were disappointed to see only 5... More

When I was first introduced to Taj Mahal, it was just a flavour explosion. The best Indian food, I had ever tasted. The Lamb Madras, particularly, was my absolute favorite; followed closely by Dhal Makhni. I returned multiple times, with my fiancé. I would even take my friends there, to make them aware of this amazing discovery. The past few... More

We had a really good Indian meal here. Good food, good service, nice atmosphere. Good value for money. Judging by how busy it was, and the number of Take-aways they were doing, the locals like it too. It was within walking distance of our hotel (about 1km for us) and without the city prices.

The Taj was recommended by the receptionist at the hotel and what a great recommendation. Since emigrating to Australia over 20 years ago it has been a long search for an Indian restaurant that lives up to my hometown of Glasgow. I found out recently the reason for this is that the restaurants in Glasgow are either North Indian or... More

Based upon the Trip advisor reviews we read we were awaiting a delightful feast, but what we got was a bit tasteless and pretty average. Nothing wrong with anything that we were served, but not what we have come to expect from Brisbane's Indian restaurants. Maybe it was an off night for the chef, but it didn't measure up to... More
