About
Il Centro has long been regarded as one of Brisbane’s best restaurants. Located in the heart of Brisbane’s premier dining precinct, Eagle Street Pier, the multi-award-winning restaurant enjoys sweeping views of the Brisbane River & Story Bridge. Since 1992, we’ve provided guests with a fine balance of casual yet elegant al fresco & indoor dining with a modern Italian flavour. Our innovative menu & superb location have made us a popular rendezvous for Brisbane’s business community, local residents & visitors alike. Our innovative modern Italian menu has a distinctly Queensland spin – best illustrated by our signature dish, the legendary Sand Crab Lasagne. Our Head Chef Venada Dana, combines her

I always try NOT to have the crab and seafood entree, the sand crab lasagne, or the fresh fish. Because I almost always give in and order them, so they are so damn good. Rangers valley steaks are almost up there. There is always a...specials board. The service may not be as it was when Andy and Marcia made this the go to place in town but it is still a top destination.More

Amazing service!! Sandcrab lasagne amazing as usual. Souffle and penacotta outstanding. Wine prices very expensive though. If a bit cheaper would have tried more. We noticed a lot of people only ordering a glass. Understand though rent costs are high in that area. If you...are in this area you must go...More

My husband and I were celebrating our 18th Anniversary and absolutely enjoyed our time at II Centro. Had the best local Calamari (which wasn't even deep fried!), husband loved the Sand Lasagne and my local Snapper was perfect with the rocket salad of pears, walnuts...and shaved parmesan. The service was excellent and I love the french accent! Used my Entertainment Card too and also received great value. Highly recommend for a special meal out.More

This used to be a great restaurant but now it’s less than average. I had 5ge lamb special, and the meat was chewy and the vegetables were overcook and tasted unpleasant. The skin on the eggplant was tough and bitter. Two of our group had...the pasta with prawns and said it was flavoursome. The high point was our waiter, he was very professional. Then to cap off a bad night, the boss didn’t correctly process the entertainment card and so we paid more that we should. If you don’t want to adhere to the rules of the Entertainment Card, don’t sign up to it. We would never return.More

First time in Brisbane and this has to be the worst Italian I’ve had . Service with no smile and I hate when they just keep filling your water glass and before you know it your 3 bottles in Calamari was something from Celebrity get...me out of here and Vegetarian dish was bland most of our 5 dishes including the pesto gnocchi we really didn’t eat Very disappointingMore

I have been going to Il Centro for almost 25 years to celebrate my Christmas birthday. It has always been a much anticipated lunch. How sad today when we arrived to feel the heart gone from the institution. It makes one wonder if this week’s...announcement of the Eagle Street Pier redevelopment crushed the restaurant or if it no longer can be bothered and is trading off past glories. The ambience is dull the service slow and an attitude of “really” when our thoughts were aired. The food is consistently good and the crab lasagne met the high expectations. My husband ordered the fish, cooked to perfection after the delicious aranchini and stuffed squid. Most years we have ordered dessert and coffee. This year we settled for coffee as The management has ALWAYS sent out a platter of small delectable bite sized treats and a chocolate inscribed plate with happy birthday. This year there was no such thought given. When asked, the management said “ oh we no longer do that”. Isn’t it sad that an empty restaurant with only 2 tables of 2 that the kitchen couldn’t write happy birthday on a plate in chocolate. Cost negligible but good will immeasurable! Maybe it’s a good thing the days are numbered. Maybe if you reopen after the rebuilding you may have ample opportunity to rebuild some good will skills too. Sadly a much anticipated lunch was spoilt but actions and attitude!More
