Verve is an Italian restaurant situated in a basement in Edward Street. The setting and decor is minimalist (ok- cheap) As it's in a basement it's noisy. However, the food is good Italian- large serves for a reasonable price. I recommend the Calamari. The service can be a bit erratic depending on the numbers in the restaurant.

food is nice and not too expensive, the restaurant is under ground and very very stuffy, toilets are outside, one on one level and then the other two you need to go all the way to the outside stairs, a bit scary

Verve is a cool downstairs restaurant in Edward St with great food, great atmosphere and very reasonable prices. You can pop in for a quick meal or equally with a large group. It's noisy and busy and full of laughter. From my perspective, it offers better quality food at a low price for a traveller doing it cheap. The two... More

This place was down under ground. No natural lighting which got to me. I found the place to be cool and trendy but the service wasnt great. Everyone got their starters and mine came out burnt. Then we had to wait for our mains and everyones came out and I was still waiting. We had come to eat together not... More

Been here only once, but had a good experience. Risotto was amazing, worth the price. Only small downfall, we went there in summer and because the restaurant is underground, the circulation was a bit bad, and it felt bit hot and stuffy. Great service, friendly staff and good location. Food was good.

After trying to find a good Italian we walked past this restaurant and the beautiful smell made us book a restaurant the next night. Beautiful food, service & restaurant. Thank you for a great experience!

Midweek celebration of a 70th birthday with 21 people so was not entirely busy, we took up most of the room! Reminded us so much of a little Italian restaurant we used to go in Sydney. Very cosy, dark with ambient lighting, great meals! And BIG! Great value, recommend for any Occassion, I go there for lunch with work colleagues... More

We decided to eat here when we were in Brisbane recently. We had an entertainment book voucher for 25% off up to $40. the venue is just off the main street down a set of stairs and into a dark room below. There is plenty of seating for both two people and large groups at big tables. This restaurant is... More

The service is always fast and helpful, I often get the waiter to help pick me a new cider and its always nice and well priced. Nice atmosphere but sometimes can be too loud for a general conversation when you're in a big group. Small group of people chatting is OK. The food is Italian and done well. Perfect portion... More

Quirky basement restaurant. Staff happily arranged a table for us as quite busy and quickly. Wait staff amazingly attentive and helpful with menu suggestions and drinks. Delicious!! Generous serving size of meals. Definitely will return!
