I expect food to be more expensive in the Outback - so when you pay a reasonable amount for dinner - it ought to be a least eatable! Sadly, the steaks available at this place were very tough - and it had nothing to do with cooking - they were just poor cuts of meat! The rest of the serve... More

Took my kids here for dinner...so busy it took ages to find a park..still had to walk to the complex. Paid $65 for me and my 2 small kids (no kids meals) serves of meat were not close to how many grams the menu said... after cooking food I was walking around for 10 mins trying to get a table...eventually... We read about Pioneer BBQ so decided to try it out. It was well priced, the steak and chicken were delicious. The salad bar had a nice variety. Good "Aussie " atmosphere.

Pick the piece of meat that you want, then go to the BBQs and cook it yourself. Cant go wrong!! My husband and son chose a T Bone steak and I chose a pork chop and my youngest a piece of Barramundi. Food and atmosphere was great. Buffet style salad that you can go back as many times as you... More

Relaxed style with great employees that make sure you are looked after during your meal. Flexible menu either 2 or 3 courses depending on how hungry you feel with nice steaks. The buffet that you have with the meal is varied and enjoyable, the soup hit the spot. Unfortunately wine availability was not good as they were out of stock... More

We did 'do it yourself' BBQ and it was nice, fresh and decent value. Best service we received at the 'resort'. Would eat here again.

The food and the service at the Pioneer BBQ is great. It is what you would describe as a great Aussie pub, good food, friendly staff, live bands, sport on tv and a relaxed atmosphere. The beer and pizzas are fab

We thought we would try the salad bar for $15.90 as it included roast potatoes, corn on the cob and peach crumble as well as several salads. It looked good until you tasted it. I am not a fussy eater but this was inedible. The roast potatoes were OK but the corn was mushy like it was days old. The... More

Be prepared to show your room key as proof of staying in the resort. If you can't do this they can't serve you alcohol. After 6 hours of hiking from sunrise to mid day we stopped in for a Outback Burger. Cheese, Pineapple, egg, beetroot, meat pattie, relish made for a tasty combination to satisfy our lunchtime hunger. Nice sitting... More
